Happy Mothers Day to all

I hope everyone here has some 'me' time today to relax. And good wishes for all

To mothers parenting their children, both adopted and biological
To those who are being approved or already approved, and are very nearly mothers - it WILL happen for you
To mothers whos children are no longer with them
To mothers who are providing temporary or long term foster care to their LO's
To mothers who parent their children from a distance because their children can't live at home
To mothers whos children are grown up and moved out
To grandmothers

And to any other mothers on the adoption/foster boards here, whether you are physically parenting or not. I wish all the mothers here a happy day, as good as it can be for you xx

:)

Thank you Lilka - and to you too.

Mothers Day is one of the celebrations I revel in (in a very low key way) because I don't feel the need to worry about DS's birth mother. Kazakhstan doesn't have a "mothers day" though International womens day is like a cross between mothers day and valentines day there. So mothers day in the UK can be my day and mine alone!

I can be a selfish git!

Oh and happy belated 16th birthday to your DD2 - hope the weekend celebrations went well.

Happy Mothers Day one and all.
Goodness, Maryz, presents at Christmas and now a card. Things are looking up. I am so pleased for you.
Personally, I could do without celebrating today, the behaviour of my 3 on special days always leaves a lot to be desired.

How wonderful for you Maryz! :) Happym mothers day to all of you

DD bought her mum a mothers day card (she handmade her one last year....never again! Glue and glitter EVERYWHERE and she refused to clean it up!). She also picked out a couple of lovely pictures of herself to send

Today, she had remembered to buy me a card on her own without DD1 having to 'organise' her Grin She gave me a lovely family photo in a frame, and a knitted scarf she made herself. She loves knitting so much! She's made me several cups of tea and she's been VERY cuddly. DD1 and SIL went to visit his mum today, but they are coming tomorrow. They got a lovely bunch of flowers delivered to me. DS gave me a lovely handmade card from school and some lovely choccies

All in all, it's been the best mothers day in years :)

Wow, I never really thought about it this way before, I've had a lush day, spoilt by my boys, lovely chat with my mum on the phone and smashing meal with Mil this evening but I forgot someone completely. I've had a glass of wine so may be a little overemotional but Happy Mothers Day to my birth mother, thank you from the bottom of my heart for fighting all the people who wanted you to have an abortion, trust me it was really really worth it.

Happy Mothers Day to the lot of you too, whether mothers by birth or the joy of adoption or fostering I hope you all had a lovely day.

Smile Thanks, Lilka.

I spent the weekend with friends in the country. We went to their church this morning and got treated to a sermon about the evils of WOHM Grin

Interestingly, though, the vicar kept talking about 'people in a mothering role' rather than mothers, and made special mention of mothers who aren't able to look after their children. Both dds were cuddled up on my lap at the time (one knee each!) and I felt very lucky and blessed.
