Net or icicle lights. Any recommendations?

I'm an outside light virgin but fancy trying it this year. If you have icicle lights, how do you fix them up and where do you plug them in?

Failing that, are there any nice indoor net lights around for a bog standard bay window?

And is blue naff?

TIA

You buy gutter hooks to keep them up and I put my through the window to plug in.

The naffer the beter is my motto.

We have wooden fascias, so use DH's staple gun to staple the icicle lights up, and like CocoLP said, just put the lead through the window (the flex iirc is the really skinny stuff, so you can put it in your window and it still closes.

Prefer white to blue tbh, but having just bought a hideous white christmas tree, not sure if I'm the best person to ask about the naffness of xmas decorations!

This is a big ladder job, isn't it? Hmmm, might be inside lights then...
