Soooooooooooooooo there's CHRISTMAS topic area!!! I just wee'd a little! I am excited!! I thought I was just a weirdo at this time of year!!!

So - I have a 10yo DD and admittedly she is one of those children who has most things. She is very easily pleased and never has to have the latest gamestation etc - I doubt the even knows her PS is 2 versions previous to the current one etc. She is not into brands. She has recently decided that she no longer likes 1D now that they have decided to spilt cue stripping wall transfers in bedroom

Whenever I ask her what she wants for Christmas, it's ''ohidunno'' or ''mum, its still summer!!';' is she really mine??

So my ask is what is this years must haves for a girl of her age?? The only thing I have from her at the moment is 3DoodleArt Pen.

God, I remember circling pages in the Argos not long after my birthday month in the middle of Summer!!

Do you think she'd be in to the NERF Rebelle stuff (if she likes Hunger Games etc?) e.g. www.argos.co.uk/static/Browse/q/NERF%2BREBELLE.htm

Or maybe a sewing/felting machine? www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2443108.htm

DVDs?

Tickets for a show/panto/day out?

Board games or electronic games? Boppit, Twister, etc? There's a cool Monopoly game which you can personalise, reduced to £10 just now: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KFTY2SM?keywords=my%20monopoly&qid=1441402732&ref_=sr_1_1&s=kids&sr=1-1&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

What about some book sets from the Book People? Here are some suitable for 9yo+:

My 10 dd is minecraft mad.. So her stocking this year will be predominantly minecraft books, soft toys and bath bombs, sweets and chocs and girlie stuff.
Main present will be a camera with video too.. She wants to record herself making minecraft demos to post on YouTube! God help us all.
I've also found Harry Potter illustrated book also.. Playmobil princess carry box thingy for £10

It's refreshing to read a thread that understands a 10 year old girl is still a child.
There was a similar thread on netmums last year, and all the suggestions were for make up, boy band stuff, false nails etc.

My DD didn't grow up fast ( now 15) and is far happier for it. I would second board games, craft kits, Hawkins Bazaar and Firebox online have some amazing toys for older children.
My DD loved a gingerbread house kit too, ( pre baked, just assemble and decorate).

Zelda, strangely enough, I have logged back in this morning after a weekend of dodging the Nerf Rebelle bow and arrow thingy! In-laws brought it back from a weekend away and DD loved it, so will be checking out the rest of the range for sure! Thank you!

Also, love the suggestion of the sewing machine, I will read up on that one.

Also saw that ''Elf - The Musical'' is in London over Christmas, just wondering whether I should bite the bullet as I will be 8.5months pregnant by then ConfusedHmm

Also Partybugs - that could be a great idea, DD is constantly asking to make youtube videos of herself, likes a bit of minecraft but also singing/dancing - is there a particular one that you would recommend?

I agree with you goblinhat - I think this is the last Christmas that she 'believes' and that is touch and go so I would like to keep her young still although stocking will probably be pamper stuff, only last night was she laying in the bath with cucumber on her eyes!! I'll check out Hawkins & Firebox right away!

Thanks all Flowers

fairyfeatures- santa is still a huge figure in our house- my oldest is 18 this year, but we still have santa magic.

He lives in the most magical place of all- our imagination. THat way we have been able to take santa with us as my children grow, we all hang stockings, we bake biscuits for Santa on christmas eve and leave one for santa.

The magic never dies!!
