So.................. ...how many days now until Christmas 2014?

(803 Posts)

We need a new thread to continue the very successful countdowns of 2013 and 2012.

And before anyone does the hmm face (or fhmm face ) take a look at some of the 'Panic Threads' at the end of December when people were "Twitching" and stressing.

Organisation is key.

(I just need to find somewhere that'll work out how many days it is grin )

I'm so glad you've started this!

357 (and 13 hours) on xmasclock.com

confused (is that till Christmas Eve though? Otherwise there's a whole day missing. A whole day that I could be shopping fgrin

I've already bought a few Xmas prezzies for Xmas 2014!!!!

I had a few unwanted gifts to return and both shops had sales on, so I picked up a few stocking fillers for the children as I didn't see anything I wanted.

Much to early to think about Christmas 2014. It's still. this Christmas here and will be until the weekend. fsmile

TheOnlyPink Wed 01-Jan-14 20:20:54

70isa I think that might be to Christmas eve, my app definitely counts to christmas day (as it said 1 day to go on Christmas eve last!) and it says 358 days today fsmile

Pink - I thought 2014 was a Leap Year too blush , so I completely scuppered counting .

<<Shouldn't be allowed sharp or complex things , me>>

So, shall we go with a DEFINITIVE 358 today - and it means I get the Extra Day?
Sounds like a plan .

Bring it on! It's still Christmas till the weekend, but that has only made me keener on thinking about improvements for next year's planning... fgrin

356 Hi everyone <waves> here we are again! Christmas was over so fast and now we've got soo long. till the next one!

I have an app on my iPad that counts down, and I caught my husband sneaking a look the other day fgrin

Right, I'm going to put £1 a day into a pot, to cover the inevitable Twitch. That should do it.

Dusty I save £2 coins in a money tin ( from The Range - £1 each) which opens with a tin opener so no prising open the lid to plunder .

In 2013 we had £200 fgrin
It's well worth it, we split the money (DH DS DD and I) to spend . Only Golden Rule is it must be spent (DS wanted to save it but he gets Christmas money anyway from Grandparents)

and now it's getting wintery hmm

but in a pouring down with cold rain rather than scampering through freshly fallen snow sort of way.

The shops were all sad and nekkid now.

A woman shopper in M&S said to her friend "Oh but it's all winter clothes" at the 60% off sale rail.

But it's still Winter hmm . Buy Winter Clothes !

353 putting the decorations back up in the loft today fsad

50shadesofknackered Mon 06-Jan-14 08:39:39

It's all so depressing and grey with all the christmas decorations and lights coming down sad I think I'll book a couple of days away next January so we have something to look forward to after christmas. January is such a miserable month!

BiddyPop Mon 06-Jan-14 08:42:06

I have rolled over the excel spreadsheet of combined present list and budget, and added the first purchase to it.

I have also decided that, assuming work is not as mad busy as last year, this year will be the year of Homemade gifts again!! My sewing machine stands at the ready!!

WaitMonkey Mon 06-Jan-14 14:48:29

I hate January. sad

girlywhirly Mon 06-Jan-14 15:45:26

My decorations have gone into the loft today as well. I have sorted through them and filled a sizeable box of things to be sold if we ever get around to doing a car boot this year. I've hung onto some decs for so long and I'm not bothered about them going!

January is a meh month (even with Burns Night to cheer it up)

I like to do nice Sunday Dinners (as near to a Christmas Dinner as I can get away with but no crackers or sprouts grin )

Plan some nice days out- London (I love London in winter, it's quieter and if it's not tipping down like it was when we went on the 20th, we like to explore)

And having a good clear out helps the January Blues wink

Doshusallie Mon 06-Jan-14 18:32:02

I hate January too...

Doshusallie Mon 06-Jan-14 18:32:14
