Lego - can someone explain?

Hi

My daughter has a box of Lego creator - its a pink box and I think it might be standard Lego? I actually thought it was Lego friends and was going to get her some of this for Xmas but I noticed on the other thread that someone said the friends stuff can only be used with other friends Lego (or maybe it was the mini figs which aren't compatible)

So my question is - are they? And if not can someone suggest sets to go with the big box I've got? Also my MIL bought her some Hello Kitty mini mega bloks which seem to be compatible with Lego, but before I buy any more I just wanted to see whether anyone has any experience of these?

Thanks....

from googling it is the friends mini figures that arent compatible with the others i.e. you wouldnt be able to swap bodies, legs, etc with the normal lego mini-figures

Yes, we have both, all the building blocks intermingle, and the Friends mini figures can be stood up on normal lego, but you can only swop the hair with other lego minifigures. Also I think they are slightly taller so might not fit in all lego cars/buildings. It really is a minor point though as my dc usually make the thing once, then pool all of the bricks and make up their own plans. Don't let it put you off buying other lego.

Yes, it's just the Lego friends mini-figures that you can't swap with normal (much better IMO) mini-figures.

All the actual Friends Lego is the same as regular Lego.
