Christmas

I am having a Christmas card list cull. Who have you got up against the wall?

First on my dead list is the couple who were originally DH's friends. After a mere 15 years they still don't know how to spell my name (they've got 15 Christmas cards from me to refer to and it's not that hard) and they address cards to Mr Hassled alone. They're going the fuckers.

Also going is the ex-colleague who was never really very nice to me at all. This is less clear cut because she does always include a tenner for the kids in her card. But she was/is a bit of a cow and I don't have any other contact and I'm in ruthless mode.

All of em... everyone. Not sent a card for 4 years now (apart from my mother and mother-in-law) Nobody seems to have noticed.

I am going to cull a particular ex-colleague as I have sent her a card for her birthday plus pressie for many years and Chrsitmas cards every year for 11 yrs and have never had anything in return...not the reason I give but an observation. So this year she goes without!

Last year I sent one to my parents and one to my in laws. I'm not expecting many this year.

I do like the "cull them all" approach. Maybe I should do the elderly relatives who actually value cards and sod the rest. It would be interesting to see who notices - some of the cards I send are just insane in terms of how little I care about teh people I'm sending them to.

Only sending to my grandma, fil and a couple I really can't get away with. Otherwise I'm not sending any. Hoorah!

Some relatives who didn't send one to me last year are off the list now, presumably they aren't bothered about sending cards to all and sundry and are sticking to close family only.

DH sends more cards than me, but he still has aunts and uncles living. He finds writing them a chore especially those to people at work, and so he loses concentration and makes mistakes, resulting in at least 6 cards wasted. I actually helped him last year by writing the addresses for the ones to be posted, as several envelopes get binned as well. Then we have spare cards left with no envelopes, and envelopes with no cards.
