DS also wants to be a rock star. Or an olympic swimmer. Or professional rugby player. Ideally all three. Grin

Do you think it will be suitable for a soon to be 5 year old?

Ok. The wrapping was ripped off at 7am by DS1 who, at the grand old age of 12, is officially "too old for toys" Hmm

It has proved to be a big hit with not only him, but also DD (age 9) and DS2 (age 6) and I would certainly reccommend it.

Youngest just wants to strum along to the tracks on it while throwing rock-star shapes in front of the full length mirror. The older two are getting into seeing what they can make it do in 'free-style' mode.

I'll let you know whether or not their interest is maintained, but certainly a very good start.

Do you know which one you bought? There seem to be a number of different ones and some are on offer at Toysrus at the moment

Just looked at the packaging and all it says is 'Series One'. It shows 5 different designs on the back and ours is the more red one.

DH bought it and says there wasn't any choice in Toys'R'Us when he went in.

I think they all have 3 different tracks and if you want to get the drums too it would make sense if DCs were playing the same song for the true rock band feel.Grin

We brought one for our ds for his 8th birthday in October, he is fascinated by it. I wandered about buying it for weeks before i did and i am so glad i did buy it for him. I also brought the amp and the drums. I would say the drums are the worse bit of kit and possibly a waste of money. We also got him the strap.

The amp is brilliant, my ds loves it. I wouldn't have given it to a younger child to be honest and we have a 5 yo who isn't allowed to use them but he is very heavy handed and i think he would break it.

He certainly feels like a rocker with his paper jamz Grin.
