LGBT Youth Scotland issues?

Hi, can anyone point me to some evidence about the issues with LGBT Youth Scotland as our school seems to be promoting events run by them.

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 16/01/2023 21:02

Have they not reported themselves as they were accused of grooming a couple of vulnerable clients

ResisterRex · 16/01/2023 21:06

And an update story. Someone was told to shred a load of paperwork, it seems:

I had some fab anti-bullying training from LGBT Youth Scotland a few years back. Those stories from a very odd-looking and biased website seem designed to discredit?

rogdmum · 16/01/2023 21:17

They enthusiastically endorse GenderGP when approached by adolescent girls online:

(they also direct adolescent girls to a free Scottish binder service)

Hoardasurass · 16/01/2023 21:20

@SpangoDweller was that before or after their co was found guilty of running the biggest pedophile ring in Scotland and was involved in the rape of a 3 month old!

Here is the BBC, is that more credible? Are you credible Spango - do you think men can get pregnant?

ResisterRex · 16/01/2023 21:28

The Telegraph and The Times reported on the story:

But there's nothing wrong with Reduxx. If there is, the complaint needs to be specific. What's "odd-looking" or "biased"?

horseymum · 17/01/2023 09:39

Thanks, I think the school might instinctively trust more mainstream sources.

Horsey mum, there are FOIs. Also, depending on what the issues you are concerned about are, this companies very own resources are a fairly credible source to highlight concerns.

They will have received an email from LGBTYS telling the school that anyone who expresses any concerns is a bigot and that LGBTYS can safely dismiss these worries.

What are your concerns?

WarriorN · 17/01/2023 10:09

One of the men who has made the allegations is being v vocal on twitter too, sorry I can't remember his name but hoping someone else can.

This account / thread may be of assistance:

WarriorN · 17/01/2023 14:59

Yes that's him.

SpangoDweller · 17/01/2023 15:27

It was after - this was about 2014, I was working for a group of local authorities.

I’d just never heard of Reduxx, and it looks like a teenager’s website from 2002, that’s all.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/01/2023 15:28

So?

Much more credible, thanks. And what does pregnancy have to do with it? LGBT Youth Scotland do a lot of work with schools to prevent homophobic and transphobic bullying.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/01/2023 15:51

Often "anti-bullying training", is a Trojan horse for promoting gender identity ideology in schools. We know that LGBTYS workers were giving girls information about how to get binders behind their parents' backs.

The idea of "male pregnancy" and the idea that your "gender" trumps your sex is a key tenet of gender identity ideology.

Oh god, I’ve just noticed which board this is. Assumed it was Scotsnet!

Er, it was just standard anti-bullying training. How to upskill and support staff who worked with young people in schools and funded services like young carer groups. Making sure young LGBT people were adequately supported. Quite sorely needed actually, as there were a few middle-aged Council workers who were aghast at the idea that young people could be LGBT.

rogdmum · 17/01/2023 16:41

The problem is that “adequately supported” in LGBTYS terms means immediate unquestioning affirmation of the child’s gender identity and support for their social transition, regardless of parental awareness or consent. Which we know should not happen and can put the child on a pathway to medicalisation.

DeeKavCoffee · 12/09/2023 00:36

@rogdmum, the tinfoil hat is slipping. Anti-bullying training is anti-bullying training. There is a lot of need for it in schools.

PatatiPatatras · 12/09/2023 03:15

@DeeKavCoffee Gender ideology being folded into anti bullying training is definitely not a requirement.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 12/09/2023 07:09

@DeeKavCoffee oh dear, if you had done any homework at all you’d know that @rogdmum is not a conspiracy theorist, she is the fucking evidence.

Thank you for your hard work and doggedness, @rogdmum. I follow you on Twitter and am full of admiration and sorrow.
