Mumsnet users accused of threatening crucifixion of Aida H Dee, in Pink News.

t.co/FZhBYiyl5m?amp=1

Aida H Dee is the Drag Queen that was hoping to read for Leeds Libraries, last Monday (22nd).

Cllr Sarah Field, Mumsnet users, and local Leeds groups Leeds ReSisters and Leeds Spinners are credited with getting the event cancelled.

We had a thread, here (since locked by MNHQ)
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3945350-Leeds-Library-hosts-Drag-Queen-Story-Hour-on-June-22nd

Political campaigning is responsible civic engagement. Issuing threats, is not. I read the entire thread, and I didn’t read any threats? If I had, I would condemn them, along with all the other Mumsnetters! Mums aren’t known for issuing threats or causing a physical danger to young men. As ever, the wise maxim ‘every accusation is an admission’ springs to mind.

Wow. Pricknews are such a shit show.

growinggreyer · 24/06/2020 12:56

Should a person who is unable to read for meaning or make inferences be allowed to read to young children?

FantaOra · 24/06/2020 12:58

Is he identifieing as Jesus now?

From the Pink News propaganda
(extract)
The event, scheduled for 2pm, entered the radar of councillor Sarah Field. The Garforth and Swillington representative has ties with anti-trans groups.

^She chaired a June 2019 meeting at Leeds Civic Hall, organised by “gender critical” group Leeds Spinners. At the meeting, according to transcripts, she said: “There is no such thing as living as a woman.
“We are women. And it is our female biology which makes us women. It is our sex.”^ (continues)

It took place on 25th May 2019

This was the UK launch of the international human rights campaign:

Declaration on Women's Sex-based Rights
Summary:

"The Declaration outlines current international laws and policies on women’s rights and how they are being threatened by organisations that are trying to change the definition of woman. It reaffirms existing women’s rights and suggests ways that states should promote and protect them. It was drafted with input from women internationally. Launching in March 2019, the Declaration is a clear call to law and policy makers to retain the sex-based biological definition of woman." (continues)

"Women's Human Rights Campaign (WHRC) is a group of volunteer women from across the globe dedicated to protecting women's sex-based rights. Our volunteers include academics, writers, organizers, activists, and health practitioners, and aim to represent the total breadth of the human female experience.

The Declaration on Women's Sex Based Rights was created by the founders of WHRC to lobby nations to maintain language protecting women and girls on the basis of sex rather than "gender" or "gender identity". (continues)

Somebody posted that (paraphrasing) if anybody else was taking the piss out of ADHD - a disability, then they would be crucified for it.

Clearly that poster meant crucified as in the verbal sense so this accusation is quite the reach even for Penis News.

Thanks for contextualising the libel! Honestly, there are no depths they will not plumb.

We are adult women, having a complex discussion about child safeguarding and how drag culture contributes to the Patriarchy. We’re allowed to occasionally use humour, simile, metaphor, or any other device to ‘lighten the mood’.

As feminists, we abhor violence as any kind of solution to interpersonal conflict. No feminist would issue threats: besides, we’re all raising kids, who has time to stalk or abuse some Drag Queen in South Wales!

This thread is a duplication of an existing thread where the OP tried not to get PN in the title. (They just love mumsnet giving them publicity)

Here's how they got their misinformation out on twitter without the truth getting a look in:

twitter.com/PinkNews/status/1275552210412240905

A lie will go round the world while truth is pulling its boots on.

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

I'm very happy to help, all thanks though are due to Cllr Sarah Fields.

Another of Cllr Sarah Fields' brilliant speeches here demonstrating her commitment to women and children in Leeds and beyond:

OP AverageAvenger wrote Wed 14-Nov-18
"You have an ally on Leeds City Council

When five prostituted women in Ipswich were murdered in 2006, what did Ipswich council do? It completely eradicated prostitution from its streets.

Ipswich did this through serious investment and multi-agency dedication to the Nordic Model.

I am calling on this council to learn from Ipswich.Visit them and work with them and their police force. I am calling for this council to abolish the shocking and scandalous “managed zone” and commit to the Nordic model, which seeks the following:

  • The decriminalisation of those who areprostituted
  • High-quality services and ring-fenced funding for those in prostitution
  • Buying sex to be made a criminal offence
  • Procuring, pimping and sex trafficking legislation to bestrengthened and the policing of these crimes to be fully resourced and prioritised
  • A widespread holistic approach of public information campaigns, education programmes in schools and training for the police

Leeds has become a city where women cannot even meet to discuss changes to government legislation, but where men are openly raping women, soliciting for sex with children and offering to buy babies.

Our city has become a notorious illustration of misogyny and this scourge must be stopped immediately.

Our women deserve better, our children deserve better, our communities deserve better and the only way forward is to end this sanctioning of sexual violence that should be morally despised.

In memory of Tania Nicol, Gemma Adams, Anneli Alderton, Annette Nichols, Paula Clennell and Daria Pionko."

In the daytime, Sab Samuel rallies to raise money for trans charities. At night, he has nightmares of being murdered by Mumsnet users.
Samuel woke up Monday morning shaking. He had dreamt that someone broke in his house and threatened to stab him because of their views against him.

I understand someone being shaken after getting a lot of negative attention online. But thinking a Mumsnet poster will break into his house and physically attack him? Seriously? This is what the demonisation of feminists leads to.

Apollo440 · 24/06/2020 23:39

Nothing new. I once told a TRA poster to take a long walk on a short pier and that was held as an example of a mumsnetter telling them to kill themself.

To be fair that's a pretty unpleasant thing to say. I wouldn't to admit my ability to make a coherent argument was reduced to that.

contactusdeletus · 24/06/2020 23:56

What utter nonsense.

Just clickbait nonsense. We're probably keeping Prick News afloat because of our rage clicks on their silly articles.

I think that must have different uses to you then, because it's common and mild to me. My chemistry teacher told me to do that because I was asking too many questions. I didn't feel traumatised at the time. Perhaps I should seek therapy Grin
