I have a box set of the avengers assemble which I’m guessing is not the start, but I don’t know what is?

I’ve seen guardians of the galaxy 1 and 2. Loved them!

Captain Marvel is also missing in that graphic but it's nearer the end so you've got plenty to crack on with.

Do I need to watch Agents if SHIELD to understand the avengers?

Nope. The back stories are filled in. You'll pick it up.

@strawberrylipgloss Captain Marvel is there at the top after Captain America but I really wouldn't watch it then. Although that's chronologically correct it will spoil a lot of the other films that come later. Best to stick to the order they were released in op as that's how they were designed to be watched

Sounds like a great plan to me OP. I agree with Daisy - the order they were released is probably the best way to watch.

I like Captain America: Winter Soldier, as it's like a classic spy/thriller film, and Far From Home, which reminds me of an 80s teen movie and has a brilliant soundtrack - actually so does Guardians of the Galaxy now I come to think of it.

From your box set, Age of Ultron is good if you want to see Captain America rip a log in half with his bare hands (or is that just me?). I like Infinity War as well.

Did anyone see Mark Kermode 's Secrets of Cinema last week about superhero films? He included quite a bit on the Marvel franchise - it was really good (and quite funny).

I'm thinking of getting Disney+ but can't see how to do it on my tv. It's a smart tv but no app that I can find. Any ideas?

Yes I've looked but it's not listed. I'm thinking my tv is too old. I assume if it's not there then there is no way of getting it.
Am thinking of seeing if I can get it on the laptop, then connecting laptop to tv.

Found that I bought the tv in 2014 - apparantly samsung tv's since 2016 supported.
