He is fab and an example to other chefs in how to behave. No need for all that sweary nonsense. It looks like Tom Kerridge is also going to co-present and he is also lovely. I will be watching. It's starting next Monday on BBC2.
She was a character wasn't she!
. There is a lady doing the drink segment again, but I can't recall her name.

No me neither. They were both on TV yesterday or the day before. Poor Jilly-I liked her.
I suppose they've gone for a complete revamp as its been X years since the show was on. I am very pleased with the choice of chefs though.

yes, I am going to have a watch. Not a great cook myself but like a good foodie programme, and it will make a change from Jamie/Nigella/Gordon et al.
Agree. With those chefs you've mentioned, I think they have become caricatures of themselves and the food is sidelined a little, so it will be an interesting watch. DH likes cooking, but gets annoyed by the usual tv chefs, however, he likes Michel so may watch with me.

I like Sunday Brunch on C4 at the moment, Simon Rimmer is great and doesn't take himself too seriously.
Thanks, I'll check that out too.
The telegraph has some recipe books from him this weekend free!
I`m so excited, loved Food and Drink, use to watch it with my parents every week when I was younger, and I loooovvvve Michel, nom nom
So did I Dreams, except then I wasn't interested in the wine, but now.....

Yes I can't wait. Michel is such a dish
The new Jilly Goolden is apparently a much younger version of Jilly now (probably similar age to Jilly when she started on the show) and her name is Kate Goodman.
Apparently she is Northern so not as "Jolly Hockey Sticks" as Jilly.
Here's a blog about her from Guardian Wine Columnist Fiona Becket:

Saw this advertised the other day but missed when its starting.
It starts next Monday at 8pm on BBC2
Thanks for the link Happy. Just read it. Kate looks like a good replacement for Jilly.
Excellent my DCs love him. They love to watch him cook, and chat about what they would eat in his restaurant. Then they get the play doh out and make up their own creations! So I guess I'll be watching this with them!
Chrysanthemum I sit my DSs in front of Masterchef, which thankfully DS1 does enjoy although DS2 (funnily enough at 6MO) is nonplussed, telling them what fab Michelin chefs they will be one day, cooking Michelin meals for their poor old mother. I am hoping at least one of them will do this [hopeful face emoticon]

I'm a bit concerned that' lovely Michel is turning into a TV person and will lose his authority as a top working chef. I don't want him dumbed down!
Davros I don't want him dumbed down either. I'm hoping he sticks to his own style of cooking as that is what appeals to me, that he isn't like Jamie, Nigella etc.

Thank you for that. He is so lovely, think its the eyes and I used to love the show before, will watch with interest even if it does clash with Corrie.

Hooray!! My absolutely fav food show just got better!
It's long overdue isn't it. So glad they have Michel and Tom rather than one of those other tv chefs.
