been done to death (probably even by me), pixie cut

I currently have a chin length bob which has grown out quite a bit, going to hairdressers tommorow but have decided I think I want a pixie cut. I love my hair when it's down but I have to wear it up for work and it ends up pulled back off my face and makes me look awful. I have had short hair before and always loved it (until a so called friend told me I looked like a fat lesbian)Angry. Dh says he loves my hair short, I am over weight and I do have a round face.
So just for vision I have included a pic of my hair now and a pic of when I put it up in a way that looks short (if that even makes sense).
Excuse the selfies I am shocking at taking photos.
So any opinions (as long as they aren't too mean) and any styles you think would suit? Ta

I always take a picture of Anne Hathaway with me when I have my hair cut in a pixie style.

Incidentally, discovered after I had my hair cut short that my mum associated short haircuts with lesbians.

Ironically, booked a hair appointment for next week, and was debating to go short or stay medium length.

Think I will watch this thread with interest, to see what good ideas are suggested.

Noooooo! You look lovely with your hair in a bob. I dont think you will suit it. The bob softens your face. I think a pixie cut will be too harsh imo.

I personally wouldn't. I have a similar style to you and did it a few years ago. I thought I'd ask for the Audrey Hepburn.

I ended up with the Spock.

Off-topic, but you have absolutely beautiful eyebrows. Whatever you do, don't get a fringe lower than a quarter/fifth of your forehead, please! I would be careful about a pixie cut - ask a hairdresser you trust about what she/he would do with the back of your head as put up is much more flattering than grown out short hair at the back. TBH if I had your bones and eyes and eyebrows I would keep pinning it up and experiment with short fringe, side curls, etc. and I'm a pixie cutter for life.

thanks crossparsley, the eyebrows are just drawn on though my actual eyebrows are invisible Sad I had a short fringe for years but it is too hard to do for work when I get up at 5 and can't start getting straighteners out. I am terrible at styles, I would love loads of styles on longer hair but when I try them I look like cindy loo who who is not more than 2.

another question would I still be able to wear the hair tie type thing in my second picture with short hair? I love those things.

I honestly don't think it would flatter your face shape or your pretty face.

I have very short hair, cut close to my head on one side(half an inch) on the other side it's longer, but cut in a way that isn't so drastic.. it's hard to explain.

I would always suggest going shorter gradually because it really is hard to say how you will like it until it is done. Short hair suits me but it took ages for me to go this short. I have a round face but my hairdresser is great at finding a cut that suits me.

I think your hair looks lovely in a bob. The first picture of your hair down is much more flattering and makes you look much younger and softer.

I am a big fan of short hair and I rarely discourage it, but I really don't think it would suit you.

Keep your hair the length it is - sounds like you like to put it up? A pixie cut is not very versatile

the biggest problem is work, I have to have it scrapped back in a ponytail and it looks awful, makes my head look like a potato, the only way round that is to go shorter than I could tie it up.

If you've had it short before Id go for it, Im biased though because my own hair is v short.
I cut ut myself so no problems, with keeping on top off it.

I think those pixie cuts might be a bit too short for you. What might work better is something a bit longer, a sort of cross between a bob & a pixie, like these perhaps?

I like those, the ones in the top row are all really nice. I could definatly be up for that.

coco I'm sure you don;t have a big moon face. I have inherited my dad's strong chin so no matter how big or small I get I have a good strong sturdy looking face. (only recently discovered blusher, amazed at the difference it makes)
