Can anyone recommend one? I've tried clean and clear, neutragena (sp?) and freederm and they all do NOTHING!
Sudocrem.
I second Sudocrem. Bloody magical stuff!
Try dabbing on a bit of tea tree oil. Drying, but works.
La Roche Posay Effaclar AI
Layer on sudocrem at night. Works for me and I've tried everything
Germolene will reduce and dry then out too
If you use teA tree oil get a string one. I think its the body shop one is really weak but the branded I think it's just called Australian tea tree is stronger. As is the super drug own brand one.
Also witch hazel but not the skin care one. Look in the first aid aisle the witch hazel you can get there is good for spots.
Origins On the Spot is excellent, quite pricey but tiny pot lasts ages.
I just came on to say Origins on the spot as well!
If u can get hold of a aloe Vera plant cut a bit of the leaf and apply the gel like substance inside 100% natural and it very good also if you eat a bit of that every day u won't even get spots! I eat it every day it seriously clears ur complexion! Google benefits of eating aloe vera!
depends on the type of spots
is it acne?
also clean and clear and neutrogena have loads of dross in their ranges and very few useful bits
Clinique do a blemish gel which is very good for breakouts. I used to use it all the time when I had a bit of acne.
i use the olay dry cleaning cloths for sensitive skin
rinse with warm water
then use the neutrogena stress 3 in 1 hydrating spot gubbins as a bha
often cos I'm old I also use this as an aha
I think a really gentle cleaner please an effective bha works wonders on most people. the AHa and BHA together really keep my spots blackheads and weirdly barren dry bits working perfectly
Quinoderm or any that has Benzoyl Peroxide in it. Over the counter in pharmacists.
La Roche Posay as mentioned ^ ^ is brilliant stuff. Sudocrem never worked for me.
BareMinerals Blemish Remedy is excellent too - it's a pre-foundation treatment/concealer thingy. Zaps them in no time. Very impressed.
ifancyashandy I was going to say what you have said.
La Roche Posay Effaclar AI is a benzoyl peroxide.
I still needed a bha to help sort out why I was getting the spots after disinfecting with b.p
Quinoderm Quinoderm Quinoderm Quinoderm Quinoderm
IME, the only thing that had any effect. I am now about 95% spot free. Only took me 20 yrs to hear about it...
Quinoderm is also bp isn't it?
I don't rate quinoderm, it just burns and doesn't get rid of the spot.
My spots are hormonal. I started taking starflower oil every day on a MNer's recommendation and it has made a huge difference. I also wash with garnier pure active face scrub every day and use an oil control moisturiser (clean and clear dual action works for me).
I never ever ever go to bed with makeup on my face.
Toothpaste dabbed just on the spot itself
Dermalogica overnight clearing gel - 2% salicylic acid
Also the snail gel which I am finding a total wonder. Was using de tuinen but seems now to be out of stock so am going to try another ....
Definitely Quinoderm. Have just replaced my hugely out of date (2001) tube. A little goes a long way!
Mine was also about 10 years old when decided it must be out of date, but did work on cystic small lumps. Don't need it now as have wrinkles instead. Oh for the odd lump and not the damn the wrinkles < grumpy face>
doing an aspirin face mask. crush about 5 normal aspirin and add a little water to make a paste, put it on the spot or use as a mask. It's salycyclic (sp) acid so works brilliantly!
Yeras ago there used to be a product called TOPEX. This worked I know for sure as I smeared it all over my face and woke up the next morning with 'sunburn'. Spots were well and truly burnt off
