I HATE my Babyliss Big Hair. It's shite.

What a bloody disappointment.

Makes my hair a big ball of frizz. Yes it is full of volume but I look like some fool from the 80s.

Crap. I have been using this for ages and it is a lot better - not as much volume but makes it look sleek and shiny.

Heresy! Burn the witch!

I was the same - it was nothing I couldn't do with a round brush and dryer, in fact, I have more "control" with a round brush and dryer, and can get more heat etc.

Sold it on eBay as used twice (which it was), for £39.95 as a buy it now, it went on the 2nd day of a 10 day auction.

So get rid now whilst its still hot!

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/03/2011 20:23

lol at 'burn the witch' Grin

Yes it is volumising, but it drops after a bit anyway, and it makes my hair look so frizzy, which I don't get with my trusty ceramic styler.

I was gutted when I tried it. I seriously believed you lot and thought this was some kind of hairstyling eldorado.

Works for me. Maybe you lot were good at styling anyway. I was hopeless. Has made a real difference for me - volume, flicks the right way instead of being lank and sad.

FellatioNelson · 07/03/2011 20:44

Hmm You are just making this up for attention. Go away immediately.

TattyDevine · 07/03/2011 20:58

You might have something there Kartell - I wasn't going to say it because its sort of smug and inflammatory, but its taken years for me to get to the level of control and competence I have with round brushes and hairdryer. Its true in a way that the Big Hair directs you to that sort of thing without too much co-ordination or technical knowledge being required... Grin

Its like, I dunno, ready made cigarettes instead of roll your own? Confused Grin

rusmum · 07/03/2011 20:58

i not bothered about mine either!!!! pants!

Dropdeadfred · 07/03/2011 21:05

i stated my utter disappointment on previous thread...

5DollarShake · 07/03/2011 21:28

I'm surprised it's taken this long for the backlash to kick in! Grin

I love mine.

Dropdeadfred · 07/03/2011 21:37

i honestly think it is because I was already managing to get my long thick one length hair with fringe to be sleek and straigt and reasonably shiney. i think i was being greedy expecting even more....

theresapotatoundermysink · 07/03/2011 21:42

I am also disappointed in mine. I have curly hair and it just made it look shite to be frank. And I even asked you lot if it worked on curly hair and you said yes.

:( I want big hair...

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/03/2011 21:44

I love mine but have stupidly bad hand eye co ordination so have never mastered the dryer and round bush thing.

TrillianAstra · 07/03/2011 21:44

I have resisted buying one, was hoping that a whole load would turn up cheap on ebay because I really want a go but can't see myself doing it very often considering that I have curly hair and normally just let it dry by itself.

Dropdeadfred · 07/03/2011 21:47

I sometimes use mine to go over my fringe and the hair that frames my face, but only when hair is dry...tryying it with even damp hair makes it frizzy and i'm sure it's split some of my hair...
dry is only useful becuase it's slightly quicker than using straigheners

MrsLevinson · 07/03/2011 21:49

I love mine. But can I ask what your hair's like OP? Maybe they work better on certain types of hair. Mine is shoulder length, fine and layered.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 07/03/2011 21:52

I was one of the naysayers on the other threads too.

I've realised from this that I'm actually quite good at drying my hair ith a round brush and a decent hairdryer. It looks nice and feels bouncy when I do it and lasts 3 or 4 days.

With the Babyliss it looks okay for a couple of hours (if a bit flat and stiff), then totally flops and has to be washed again 2 days later.

I did think DD13 might find it useful but I don't think she can be arsed. might ebay it.

What is that contraption on the OP? I've resisted this as too much to take a risk on. My hair looks ok ish if take time to blow dry it properly. But 15 mins later it looks like Monica's in that episode of Friends. I can't imagine the BBH would be any different?

pointydog · 07/03/2011 21:53

lol.

It's your hair, not the babyliss. Never the babyliss

CarGirl · 07/03/2011 21:58

I have loads and loads of thick, very slightly wavy. I want something to calm my hair down not make it thicker!

Celery · 07/03/2011 22:05

It makes my hair totally static fly away. And then lank and a bit greasy looking. I have shit hair.

Udderly · 07/03/2011 22:19

I came THIS close to buying one today, THIS close, but s

Udderly · 07/03/2011 22:20

Stupid phone! Something held me back. Glad I've seen this thread now!!

Dropdeadfred · 07/03/2011 22:27

udderly what is your hair like?

Udderly · 07/03/2011 23:48

Shoulder length, thick, quite coarse, dry. The opposite of smooth and silky, has a bit of a kink. I'd describe it as like a brush. The straighteners works wonders with it and it always looks fab after a salon blow dry.
