Ds has had a temp since last night, liquidy chest, floppy and miserable. The dr has given him antibiotics, but said if his breathing starts seeming laboured or he takes a turn for the worse to go to hospital (we have open access at the children's ward, because ds is at risk of aspiration infection - we think?!)
So I am sat here worrying and waiting, our bag is packed, just in case, and I can't put ds down because he just wants to cuddle. I am on the verge of feeling sorry for myself, so please stop me!
Aww hazey big hugs hope your ds gets much better soon, nothing worse than when your children are ill. Hopefully he will get well, without a trip to hospital, however if he has to go you are in the best care and glad that your organised just in case. Try and have a
to relax a bit (easier said than done, i know). Hope ds is back to his normal self in no time. Take care xxxx
Hi, Wanted to say something rather than reading and running.
Fingers crossed here that the antibiotics take effect.
You sound like you are well organised in case you need to go, so all you can do now is to have a
and eat, so that you have enough energy for your DS.
Sending healing thoughts across the ether.
thankyou shazian, I hate the not knowing, at least if you are in hospital, then that is it.
Anyhoo, I am starving and trying to work out how to forage for food, whilst ds clings to me like a koala!
lol at the koala (know the feeling), i hope you manage to get something to eat, you need to keep well and keep your strength up especially if you end up with a stay in hospital. Poor wee soul hope he's well soon x

Hope everything is going ok at the hospital Hazey.
Sending hugs for DS and thinking of you x
Thankyou so much for all your positive thought.
Ds took a turn for the worse yesterday when his temp hit 41, the children's unit were fantastic and told us to bring him straight in.
They did a chest xray which showed a patch of inefction in the same area as his previous xrays, so they think it is probably caused by aspiration. We managed to get his temp down and some fluids in him, and they gave us the choice of taking him home with some antibios and a promise to return if he worsens or stay in for antibios on a drip.
We chose the home option, and by the time we got home and managed to get sleepy/hyper dds to bed it was very late, so sorry I didn't post last night.
Hopefully the meds will start working today and we won't have to go back in. Looks like a day on the sofa with koala boy!
hope the abs get him sorted soon

Glad to hear you managed to get home from hospital. Hope you manage to stay home now.
Don't forget to set up your food and drink within reach of the sofa before settling down with koala boy for the day!!!
Glad the childrens' unit acted quickly and got him straight on the ABs. Hope they kick in quickly and he feels better really soon.
Pleased you were able to bring him home. I remember when ds2 was in a similar situation and they wouldn't let us take him home for over a week. He really only started to improve properly once we finally got him home again. I'm a great believer in the power of a safe, familiar environment and lots cuddles with Mum.
