Blocking trolling posters IP addys would work no?

I have to confess I'm a bit of a compulsive sleuth.

Oh good, I knew Armed Moderators was the only way forward. What about using the Sanctuary as a temporary remand and reprogramming centre for trolls or those suspected of trollery?

I don't think proof should be necessary or anything - and there should be a 92 day period of detention without trial. And ID cards. A general all pervading sense of paranoia and intrigue has already been introduced so that's good. MNHQ need to act now and get tough. We need Justine to step in as Glorious Leader to see us through. Otherwise we will start eating each other's IP addresses.

BBM, you need to have whole threads displayed, not pages - then you can read to the very end (& then find it's gone when you refresh but hey, you'll still have seen most of it grin)

<<recovers decorum and adjust clever glasses>>

I promise no hugs, only cool dispassionate 'hmms' and 'ahs' probably finishing with 'how did you feel about your father?'

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By Slur on Thu 02-Oct-08 09:57:19
hurumph, you are going for the full agressive ECT approach then? wink

Well I shall take my fluffy talking therapy elsewhere then. I see a lot potential in Pet's corner.

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By Slur on Thu 02-Oct-08 09:55:41
I could tell you but then it would set the therapy back by several steps. You have to not need to know.

Or perhaps I should prepare a general dossier to email to everyone?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By PsychotherapuTECH on Thu 02-Oct-08 09:54:51
Apologies Slur, but the therapy will be undertaken by the Armed Moderators that Boco suggested yesterday.

Following yesterday's corruption of the site by CIV (Collective Insanity Virus) the site usership is known to be affected by:

Munchhausen by Internet
Sleuthing Compulsion
Naivity Syndrome
WTF Syndrome

We will therefore be taking it offline for therapy. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
