Hello, I'm Mouse Xmas Smile

Welcome to the Bus, he's called Gerald.... he takes us up and down and this wondrous land, searching high and low for Babes in need of some support, a warm place to sit and chat, and to have someone to listen to them.

So, grab a seat as we swing by your way. There's lots of hot drinks, food and fleeces, places to just be and places to sit around and chat if that's what you want.

We don't judge, because we've all be in your shoes, be they stilettos, wellies or crocs!...

We're just us, we're just honest and we just do what we can to help, if we can, when we can. Let's try and have a Merry Christmas without getting off our faces this year. Xmas Smile

Here is the very first, emotional thread if you would like to see where this all started

And the last thread if you want to keep up!

Good morning everyone - I found the new bus. Well it's a new week and I now have my conscience home from university for four weeks so that should help, something needs to as my clothes are getting tighter and tighter and its not even Christmas yet!

Anneisnotmyname · 08/12/2014 10:19

Morning day 3, planning to reign in my eating for the next two weeks so I have a bit of leeway over xmas!

Ho ho Ho my lovely babes,

I could infact be mistaken for Santa, I have long curly hair which without chemical assistance would be white, I have a belly that could rival Mr Claus and thanks to my steroid meds and ageing hormones my beard is becoming so fluffy I can stroke it...... OMG that sounds well dodgy xxxxx

babyjane1 · 08/12/2014 12:56

ma as my late gran used to say "pick your battles" sometimes we just have to go with our feelings and anxieties and deal with each day as it comes. the time will come when you're ready to make changes and I hope for you it's soon. You have so much going on and none of it your choosing so if wine is giving you comfort, don't worry for now, you have enough to worry about. How much are you drinking each night? A squishy hug just for you xxx

obrigada · 08/12/2014 14:16

Afternoon babes, grabbing a seat and holding on tightly. Waves to all xx

lookingforhope · 08/12/2014 16:12

Soupey, sounds familiar. My 11yo dd I'd my conscience too Grin

dementedma · 08/12/2014 19:21

Hey all.conference speech tomorrow. Can't do it with bullet points as I just gabble so am now reading the script and sound like a bored school teacher reading to a class of five year olds! Given that the audience includes a deputy commander, an MP, a commodore and various high heid yins, I'm guessing they won't take kindly to it!

Thisisntmyname · 08/12/2014 19:25

Help? Thanks Posted but some lovely poster wrote here down for me to post in so copying my post here too. Hello btw x

Thanks Gingerroot for other thread and Elibean for identifying (and anyone that wrote anything too)

Elibean where abouts are you if you don't mind me asking. I just feel lost and a also so tired of now putting a front on for everyone (not that there are many in everyone IYKWIM, am pretty but not totally alone) pretending Im ok when Im really not. I did go to a AA meeting today but burst into tears and ran out.

Will repost this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/a2253818-I-think-Im-an-alchoholic-but-am-lost-and-dont-know-where-to-start-I-cant-imagine-living-without-booze-but-dont-think-can-live-with-it-Scared?msgid=51182878#51182878 in thread gingerroot suggested to see if hlep there.

Thank you all[flower]

dementedma · 08/12/2014 19:45

Welcome name. Yes, this is the right place and well done for facing up to your drinking.there people on here who can help you.

Fairenuff · 08/12/2014 19:50

Hi This good to have you here. I can hear the slight panic in your tone so I just want to tell you that it's ok, everything can be ok, it's not as hard as it seems right now.

Are you drinking today or are you trying to get an AF (alcohol free) day under your belt?

Fairenuff · 08/12/2014 19:51

Also, what should we call you Grin

aliasjoey · 08/12/2014 20:11

Week 7 and 3 days...

Starting to think about Christmas- do I want to stay AF ?

Oh thanks mouse for doing the new thread

Thisisntmyname · 08/12/2014 20:32

Thank you for welcome. I am paniced so Fairenuf you are right, thank you for the comfortFlowers and the language! No not tyring to have an AF day, but am trying to make sure keep as small as I can so can get to place of peace and in a programme (AA I guess?) of safety and then wean off but trying hard to not get to a place where need a dettox IYKWIM.

A AF Xmas would be impossible so not even going to try as know would fail and then just hate nyself moreSad Will stay here though if okay and in my plan to stay as ALow (is that a saying? Mean Alchohol Low!) as possible while t same time getting into AA. Does that make sense? If I hadnt started drinking agian I woulndt start now but now i am i know it will be impossible to not drink at all which is why am starting with samll steps in rite direction. Is that ok for me to be doing that and still be wlcome here?

Flowers
Fairenuff · 08/12/2014 20:39

Yes, that's ok.

The important thing is to try and stick with us so that we can help you through this.

You might find that, with support here and elsewhere, you can cut back quite a lot or even have a dry day or two. It seems impossible now, but it could be something to aim for.

What time of day do you normally have the first drink? It might be that you can push that time back, even by half a hour. Every single drink not drunk is a victory Smile

Joey well done you fab babe, who would have thought it, seven and a half weeks! You don't have to think about Christmas just yet do you?

Fairenuff · 08/12/2014 20:41

ma I missed your post upthread about the conference. Nerve wracking stuff. Maybe you could adopt an accent, like Ross did in Friends?
