Now I love my cats at 6 weeks they were house trained, don't expect a walk but affection is when they want it.

My dog is so lovely loyal but expects walking and attention even if that means sitting next to me as I watch television.

So which one is better, dogs or cats?

My dog is better than everyone else's dog. My dog is also better than everyone else's cat. That is all.

Crikey - big question. BOTH

You haven't mentioned horses though. Had a real melting moment with my mare at the stables earlier. In the dark, and the cold, and the mud, but hey, who cares?

sitandnatter Fri 16-Dec-11 19:03:02

Crash you haven't met my dog. You haven't met my cats. grin

Exit I have no experience with horses but believe some children with mental health illnesses have a real affinity with them. My son as ASD his love is cats and his dog, never really found a way to access horses to see if they would also benefit him.

Oooh, difficult. I'm naturally a cat person, I love their meh attitude. We got agog a few years ago, not whole-heartdely on my part, but he's lovely. For dogs, the glass is always completely full, and overflowing.

God I hate this new predictive spellcheck. A dog, though he agog, too. 24/7.grin

echt I've only had my puppy since September but she's such a joy, but then the cats are in different ways. With the I can take her anywhere I'm going and she just loves me no matter how rough I look. Mind you the cats do too but I guess I'm glad to have both as I can't make up my mind. grin

Cats Rule and that's all there is to it!

My three are my furbabies and so precious to me.

I like dogs but will never never never have one. Always cats smile

Two cats and a dog here.
I got the cats first and it's impossible to choosegrin.
They all have their own personalities really.
<though dog is asking out at the moment while cats can do it by themselves.
<I feel a song coming on....

Decades ago a comedian summed it up for me. You are putting up shelves. A dog stares blankly at you and adoringly thinking, "I love you. I don't know what you are doing but I love you"

The cat will be judging you and thinking they could have done it better.

I prefer cats.

Cats win, hands down.

There is no other animal who can give such dirty looks.

PreviouslyonLost Fri 16-Dec-11 19:39:47

I like both equally, always have, always will. I have room for both canine AND feline in my heart smile

Pandemoniaa Fri 16-Dec-11 19:41:47

Dogs. Loyal, loving, inclined to be rather daft but wonderful companions/

Although I like cats too.

But I'm sorry, I truly cannot stand pets being described as "furbabies". The very expression takes every shred of natural, animal dignity away from them.

CheerMum Fri 16-Dec-11 19:47:32

my dog rules..but if it came to a fight i wouldn't put any money on him - he's a complete wimp (even though he's a huge rottweiller)

but any animal that makes you smile is good in my book smile

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen Fri 16-Dec-11 19:47:44

Dogs! Dogs win paws down everytime for me.

Furbabies? Wtf? confused

sitandnatter Fri 16-Dec-11 19:51:28

My puppy licks the face off my cat she gets so excited when she seems him. I don't know who to be more pleased with the cat for putting up with a puppy jumping all over him while licking him or the puppy for getting so excited to see the cat.

The other two just go for higher ground and get the hell out of the puppy's way.

PetiteRaleuse Fri 16-Dec-11 19:54:00

Two cats and a dog here too. Love them all though I was never a dog person until I got ours.

hiddenhome Fri 16-Dec-11 19:54:36

Cats smile

Dogs always seem too 'needy' to me. I like an independant spirit.

Kladdkaka Fri 16-Dec-11 20:02:37

Cats will win every time. Just look at this video. The American pitbull didn't stand a chance against the fluffy kitten.

Chattymummyhere Fri 16-Dec-11 20:02:52

Dogs win here.. Never seen the point in a pet that just sods off all day and only comes back to be fed, and if it finds food somewhere else wont come back.

I'm a cat lover but this one takes the biscuit. I put it on pets but there were no takers do any other cat lovers find this funny? I just love cats too but not as much as this girl. Watch the first one first, stick with it then watch the second one. It's just a bit of fun.

My cat is currently watching the puppy chasing his toy around and round in circles looking at her as if she is mad. I think I actually like the interaction between cat and dog best, better than Eastenders!
