well done on making it to the final week! pop your weight in on the spreadsheet and give yourself a pat on the back!

although the formal bootcamp ends this week, we always have an ongoing chat thread for support, advice and general chitchat, so we won't be going away. you will see on the spreadsheet that you can carry on weighing in weekly if you want to, but i won't be doing the biggest loser stuff until the next bootcamp

Ooops posted this on the last thread by mistake...

Beryl, are we allowed to drink that fat flush water? It has fruit in it. Would love to try it if its allowed though!

Morning all.

I gained - that will be the wine and cream! But not entering weight anyway as still no real idea where I am now compared to old scales.

Holiday on Thursday so busy for next few days getting sorted and packed etc. Not planning to deviate from the food but finding it hard to say no to wine in the evenings.

Chipping - non-egg eating diabetic veggie sounds really hard so I'm not surprised you get peed off. I would too. And I know what you mean about cafes. Nothing to eat that doesn't involve carbs. It's a nightmare.

Maybe low carb isn't best though with so many restrictions for you? Have you looked at low GI? Still low in carbs but you would eat pulses etc. I'm not planning on boot camping when I come back from holiday but am planning on my old 'no crap carbs' plan. No wheat, no sugar. I think I will do that till next bootcamp starts and see how I do with that compared to this.

Will update spreadsheet later but have STS despite the fact I'd dropped a lb mid week, I've put it back on now Hmm That's probably the c**p food yesterday. Or totm.

Hope everyone else has faired better.

Looking at tofu and Quorn Chipping I would think Quorn would be preferable since tofu is made from soy. There's no doubt that Quorn is a heavily processed food. I remember studying the manufacture of it at university and being appalled at the process of growing food in big vats. I suppose it's the kind of futuristic man-made food that was predicted in the 50s. That said if you compare it to the practices of meat rearing and meat processing, not to mention egg production, I don't think it looks as bad. I know Briffa has set out a blueprint for eating but I don't think that means we shouldn't tweak it to suit ourselves.

Black, I'm not entirely sure about the fat flush water - but I'm not actually eating the fruit. I reckoned that I managed to drink 1 1/2 litres water yesterday (a lot for me), which had one small orange and 1 slice grapefruit in the jug for the whole day, so I'm hoping that the benefits outweigh whatever small amount of carb would be infused by the orange / grapefruit combo.

I also found it very drinkable in the evening, which meant I didn't think about wine.

Dropped another lb Smile despite all the wine at the weekend Grin Even had some rice and some very alcoholic trifle at my dad's last night (he'd had a disaster making a cake, so he soaked it in alcohol to make a trifle).

I've not lost nearly as much on this BootCamp (less than a stone) as I did on the last one (over 2 stone and I was one of the Biggest Losers Grin) but I am happy that the weight loss has continued and I've integrated this in to my everyday WoE.

timidviper · 01/07/2013 09:18

Black I would imagine the soluble bits of fruit are the sugar but I have kept a jug in the fridge of water with a slice or two of lemon before now. The revelation to me was cucumber! Slice up some cucumber, drop it in a jug of water or a glass of fizzy water with ice and it is lush!

1lb off so 15lb in total this bootcamp but the best news is I have only 2lb to go to my 3 stone mark since I started. Also my BMI is dowm from the "morbidly, super, oh fuck she's about to die!" band into the regularly obese one which is a good start :)

Morning. Food became a bit of a wipe out this weekend. Done far far far too much and by rights not even in the amount of pain I probably deserve for burning the candle at all ends and the middle. Mind you I haven't moved yet.
Strict day and will weigh in tomo. hopefully didn't manage to totally undo all of last weeks good work.

Hi All,

I only lost 0.2lbs. I've been very good but it's coming up to me TOTM so I guess thats it, I'm near to half a stone and have only been doing this WOE for three weeks so I'm very happy.

Can I carry on putting my stats on the spreadsheet even after this week Willie?

Hiya, well done to all you losers.
Timid - that is fantastic news and an amazing loss!
Pretty - that is a huge amount of weight off this year!
You are all inspiring me to stick with it and not go off and make Nigella's Guiness cake that was distracting me on that best cake thread that was total torture to read....

Not weighing in till tomorrow in bid to put some distance between weigh in and wine, almond butter, double cream and slightly sugared strawberry fest that was Saturday - Hmm very much bending if not snapping of the bootcamp rules.

Now to have my second ever bulletproof coffee for breakfast!

Black - are you still oil pulling? I don't know if you saw but I tried it and liked it, especially as I am interested in keeping good gums/ losing sensitivity in teeth - had probs with both previously. How often are you meant to do it?

snowballinashoebox · 01/07/2013 09:46

Morning. Considering that I went off plan all weekend, loads of travel, party food, wine, wine, hardly any water and more wine I have gained 1lb.
Really missed the water and will try and bootcamp this week.

So a total of 13lbs off for me which I am really pleased with. I really don't miss sweet things much anymore and think I have found a new woe.

Totally new to the whole thing but in desperate need of some help!
Had dd 14mths ago, am actually putting weight on and I never lost it all after she was born!
Have made a few rubbish attempts but always fail on day 2.
Really really need something to work now as I'm so fed up of looking and feeling like this.
totally addicted to sugar and carbs so think this might be bloody hard work the right way to go.
Need to lose about 3 stones.
Comfort eat, boredom eat, just generally eat eat eat!!
So will follow on here but sticking to boot camp strict two week rules and if anyone's got any spare self control I'd really appreciate some of it Grin
Thanks.

kotinka - oil pulling is something Black mentioned on the last thread, I think. It is basically some ancient ayurvedic practice of swilling coconut oil around in your mouth for about 20 mins! (Though I have only managed 16). It is meant to strenghten your teeth, improve sensititvity and help get rid of general bacteria in the gums. I tried it once and I quite liked it so am going to do it again.

Bulletproof coffee - this time no slow whisking with hand held bubble whisk but put it in flask and shook hard for 20-30 secs and what an improvement - lovely and frothy too. Who needs milky coffee - ha!

Go for it!!! And then in two weeks you'll be able to change your MN name Wink

My top tips - drink the water! And snack away in the early days if hungry on low carb stuff, the desire to snak goes pretty much completely I find, but at the start I need to snack lots!

Sugary twat logging in :(
Was away this weekend and enjoyed an overload of wine, beer and bread.

4lb on but am pretty confident that I can shift that this week -buttery scrambled eggs for breakfast, onwards and downwards.

Willie, I was 240 last week, and 244 this morning Blush

viper that is fantastic - those milestones always help spur you on

nobody, the spreadsheet has more slots so you can keep on adding in your weight on a weekly basis if you find it helps you keep to the straight and narrow

c25k - most of that will be glycogen stores/water as you know - a few strict days and plenty of water and you will be back where you were in no time

i'm on a countdown to a sunny holiday next week. i'm not really going to manage to lose much weight in that time, but i'm going to be strict so that i feel as sleek and unbloated as i possibly can. this last weekend i was boozing at a wedding, so a few days of strict bootcamping and low dairy are definitely needed

welcome fatty - if you haven't already, have a good read of the info BIWI has written here:

what is the low carb diet

how low carb diets work

the low carb diet plan

low carb bootcamp

plus there is lots of info in the spreadsheet, linked to in my OP

by the way, I meant to say in my OP but forgot, the reason why i'm posting the thread this week and not BIWI is because she's on holiday with only intermittent access to email. she'll pop on when she can get her nose out of the wine glass
