Nancy66 Wed 30-May-12 21:51:36

BornSicky Wed 30-May-12 21:54:02

BornSicky Wed 30-May-12 21:54:15

oopps! wrong thread!

Piffpaffpoff Wed 30-May-12 21:56:57

Nancy66 I think he sounds like a top bloke too. There, I've said it! A lot of people speak very highly of him, and I think he cant have got that CNN job without them checking him out very thoroughly.

Nancy66 Wed 30-May-12 21:59:01

Oh I don't doubt he knew all about phone hacking and journalists used it under his watch - but I suspect he'll get away with it.

However when I worked for him he was: clever, funny, hard-working, very very generous and very fair.

Piffpaffpoff Wed 30-May-12 22:02:24

Thats pretty much the view of him I get from his books Nancy. And I love that he clearly seems to enjoy it all, so many people are so po-faced and serious whereas he looks like he's having a ball.

Nancy66 Wed 30-May-12 22:03:28

Yes, he enjoys life and I still think there's a part of him that can't quite believe he's got where he is.

Yama Wed 30-May-12 22:06:05

Can't believe Doctor's pensions is top story on both BBC and ITV News. (Yes, yes I know they might strike but I want to see tan man, then go to bed.)

Piffpaffpoff Wed 30-May-12 22:08:06

Tommy did well to keep his face straight on the report I saw. grin

Ponders Wed 30-May-12 22:23:55

oh thanks, Nancy & piffpaffpoff - that's very much the impression I have of him, glad to have it confirmed smile

QueenEdith Wed 30-May-12 23:13:20

I've just seen on SKY that he's been charged.

Piffpaffpoff Wed 30-May-12 23:13:52

Coulson's been charged!

Pan Wed 30-May-12 23:53:07

and released. Will they give him a travel warrant to get home again?

Morgan knew the abuse photos (Abu Ghraib?) were fake - and also knew the story was true. Since no documentary evidence was publishable, he chose to break the true story using false evidence. It gave whistleblowers the confidence to speak up. He's done some things that impressed me much less, but on the whole I believe he's an honourable person.

Coulson is a different kettle of fish. No way he'll get everything that's coming to him (imo) but it's good to see cynical Narcissists power freaks shown out in daylight.

garlicfucker Thu 31-May-12 00:12:51

Pan, I imagine his driver hit the road straight after the cops!

EldritchCleavage Thu 31-May-12 00:32:06

molschambers that post of yours is in my top three MN posts ever!

molschambers Thu 31-May-12 16:00:21

<preens>
grin

ferfuxsake Thu 31-May-12 20:16:42

If it is true, I hope they throw the book at Coulson.

Whatever you think of Sheridan's politics, Coulson (allegedly) lied under oath resulting in a man being put in prison with reputation and career destroyed.

bananaistheanswer Thu 31-May-12 21:05:46

Lied under oath in a trial for perjury no less. Me thinks that might up the anti on this offence.

bananaistheanswer Thu 31-May-12 21:09:58

oops. Forgot to add allegedly.

'Lied under oath in a trial for perjury no less. Me thinks that might up the anti on this offence.' ALLEGEDLY.

<phew> grin

Nancy66 Thu 31-May-12 21:44:47

Sheridan is a cunt. Hate that a low-life like him gets to feel superior.

Pan Thu 31-May-12 21:59:08

Well when it comes to Sheridan v Morgan it's a bit like cat shit v dog shit. One smells slightly less obnoxious but they come from the same anatomical source.

bananaistheanswer Thu 31-May-12 22:00:32

Say what you really think Nancy, don't hold back! grin

I'm no fan of Sheridan, hypocritical little nyaff that he is. But, I do think Coulson was an idiot to allegedly lie under oath at a perjury trial. How thick, or deluded, can he be to allegedly do that?
