fab news for hnd !!
lots of good luck pen and well done invicta
Off to my bed now xxx

smee yes lots of hot flushes but not at the same time as the palpitations. Seem to be a bit worse since my 4th herceptin but it may very well be imagination.

jchocchip Mon 14-Jan-13 20:11:24

hurray for hnd
we had snow but it went slushy and now it has frozen - not nice at all... sad

invicta Mon 14-Jan-13 20:06:16

Hi,

Dexa scan was fine and fairly quick. The x-ray 'arm' moves over you and sounds like a photocopier. I think I get the results in three weeks,or at least the doctor gets the results and will call me if he needs to speak to me.

We had a little snow this morning. Fortunately the roads were clear.

HND - hip hip hooray!

Pen - all the best for tomorrow.

smee Mon 14-Jan-13 19:53:55

Gracie, are you having hot flushes at all? My heart races when they're intense. Freaked me out at first. Panic attacks do same though, so could easily be that.

Fab news hnd. I'm sure she is so relieved.

Good luck tomorrow pen hope it all goes well. We will stock the fbs for your return.

Another appointment for me this week - I seem to be spending a lot of time at appointments. I have to now go for an echo on Wednesday. Really hope it is ok as I have been having palpitations and I don't know whether it is the Herceptin or panic attacks blush.

Hope your dexa scan went well invicta

Thanks for sitting on the box smee

sandripples Mon 14-Jan-13 19:25:09

Sorry - meant good news for HND - my brain is hopeless - I blame the weather.

sandripples Mon 14-Jan-13 19:24:28

Hooray for Pen and good luck to Gigs this week.
x

smee Mon 14-Jan-13 18:47:14

Yay !! Excellent news on HND. Bet she'll recover far quicker now. Does that mean no chemo or rads, Topsy?

Gracie, appt and scan makes me wonder if we should we sit on paranoia box for you too? Gigs, am already firmly plonked for you x smile

Hope Dexa scan was okay today, Invicta. I think they're quite quick, so imagine not too stressful for you. When will you get results?

Really good luck tomorrow, Pen, we'll be thinking of you and cheering you on. fbs as soon as you return. Take care xx

HND update .
She's just had her Onc come round and pathology says no spread from DCIS anywhere . Nodes all clear aswell !
Woohoo !!!

Blooming freezing here but no snow (unfortunately), raining as usual and I need to walk the dog. Every time I move he jumps up wagging his tail. I am doing a very good job of ignoring him grin.

I'm positioned on the paranoia box for you gigs

Surgeon appointment tomorrow night for me and then MRI next week.

Anyone ever have laptop burns? I fear I surf too much and have had a burny left knee for some months. No marks but just feels burnt. Really must cut down on the amount of time I spend surfing rubbish.

Pavlova and chocolate brownies for anyone had a bit of a baking frenzy yesterday but normal service is resumed today <couch potato alert>

Gigondas Mon 14-Jan-13 11:31:45

grin I know mas- but she is living image of dh .

Tax return done and admin done - now onto studying

hope DLA thing goes well topsy. Horrid to have to face all that.

yikes, are you sure she's your baby gig ?
Loads of sitting in the box for you too.
Am off into town to post office in a mo -then work. Secondary support group meeting not this week after all, but bloods and hospital on Thurs and Fri.

Gigondas Mon 14-Jan-13 09:41:54

That does sound tough for friend but it is so hard to think how would do it another way .

Physio and scan for me on Friday so will be needing help/paranoia box sitting then.

Today am trying to have a good attempt at concentrating to do some open uni stuff and household things so kick me off if you see me here.

Leaving some chocolate sponge cake for those that want it. Made it for kids as practice for mini gig birthday but mini gig doesn't seem to like cake or chocolate that muchshock

Morning All

No snow here . Infact I think NI is the only place forecasted to NOT have snow . <disappointed>

What are we all up to this week ?
Tomorrow I am being chaperone for my friend , she is having doctors to her house to assess her for DLA .
Poor woman is terrified of them .
I so wish there was a better assessment system , but I can't think what it could be ?

Right , back on the sofa under my blankie with a large coffee .
<calls Miracle Healer Pig/Dog over to keep me warm> grin

Copthallresident Mon 14-Jan-13 07:54:56

Snow here too!

Snow !!

smee Sun 13-Jan-13 23:07:33

Hurling crumbs of cake onto trolley for invicta. Well done on swimming. I remember my first swim - huge moment for me, but a good one. The start of life to come and all that. Let me know all on dexa scan - I have mine soon too.

You lot have been busy, though on a quick scan have gleaned that Pig-dog is the cure for cancer, so Topsy you're minted. grin

HND, if you're out there I hope you're home soon. Sounds like you're coming on in leaps. Sounds like a heck of a thing to go through, but this might cheer you up, as a friend who's had the reconstruction in spring last year is having her last consult with her plastic surgeon next week, whereas me with my implants still have another op to go and I'm not far short of 3 years on from first op..

Pen, hope you have wifi, but give in to the utter joy of it all being over. You will definitely wake up and think ff for that. Doesn't matter how you feel when you wake in terms of pain/ reaction to GA, it's always a relief. smile

Jane I wish you snow. DS is so excited by waking up to it tomorrow, but the forecast isn't looking too generous for London.

Will catch up properly soon, but thank you for all the birthday wishes. Night all. x smile

jchocchip Sun 13-Jan-13 22:02:42

well done swimming invicta hope your bones are dense. I'm going to get my sledge out of the shed if the snow comes, we have a super slope in the park...

loads of good luck pen and glad you';ve sorted the wifi !
And yes, tell the school like gig says.
