Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, its DDs favourite.

She calls it Chilly Bang, and sings along when that song comes on! She is two.

dd loves Singing in the Rain, though she loses concentration at the talky bits. She has the CD soundtrack too.

DD loved Annie at 18 months, Sound of music at 2, Seven Brides for seven Brothers at two and a half. Chorus line at three. We lived in fear that she would give a rendition of Tits and Ass at nursery. Her first musical was Cats at three and Les Mis. She is on stage now by the way.

dd2 (big musical lover unfortunately) just loved Calamity Jane
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By pointydog on Mon 08-Sep-08 20:32:39
dd2 was given Grease when 6 (and is in fact watching it right now). I found it a little inappropriate although the sex references just went over her head.

You might be able to get a copy of Ingmar Bergman's The Magic Flute in France - it's not available in Britain

The Aristocats is absolutely brilliant, has fantastic songs and great animation.

Second the Jungle Book (whilst I'm on a cartoon musical theme smile)

Lady and the Tramp is also excellent isn't snooks
The Slipper and the Rose (if you can stomach Gemma Craven and Richard Chamberlain) is quite sweet
