All group 6 should be able to book online within the next 48 hrs

Good news! I got so frustrated that my group 6 husband is still not able to book vaccination online that I called the 119 number listed on the website. I was told that ALL of group 6 will be uploaded to the online booking system within the next 48 hours :). So not long then! Bottom line, if you are group 6 and cannot book online by Monday, you shoud contact 119 and/or your GP as it means you are not properly flagged on the system.

I hope you're right, I'd be so excited. At least I'll now they've removed me from group 6if I can't book by Monday

CxHB · 04/03/2021 18:59

Oh I hope this works for me! I can't face trying to ask my surgery again. Thank you very much for posting.

WombatChocolate · 04/03/2021 19:17

That’s interesting. Given they updated the front page to include those who are clinically vulnerable as eligible to use the national booking sight (ie as an alternative to waiting for GP contact) I’m surprised they haven’t already put all of Group 6 on.

From the threads on MN it seems like most of group 6 are having success now with the national site. Where there are issues is when they are not sure they are actually in Group 6, so perhaps not flagged. This could be an error or just that they do t qualify to be in Group 6...still lots of confusion about this.

Jaxx · 04/03/2021 19:43

I have had it confirmed that I am in Group 6 by my GP but can’t access the online booking system.

Hopefully that will be sorted soon.

needadvice54321 · 04/03/2021 19:53

Oh good! I'm getting mine next week for a different reason but I'd like my group 6 DS vaccinated before he goes back to college ideally

Azuretwist · 04/03/2021 20:17

Oh where is that info? As have group 6 sibling who has not been called yet via Gp system.

needadvice54321 · 04/03/2021 20:20

@Azuretwist - the front page of the online booking now includes CV people, but when I tried to book DS on it said he's not eligible that way

RandomMess · 04/03/2021 20:25

I rang 119 and managed to get booked as my central NHS record has me marked as group 6 so definitely worth phoning and speaking to a booking person.

WombatChocolate · 04/03/2021 20:35

Jaxx, the GP won’t use the online booking system. You have to do it yourself...go onto the the website or call 119 and do it over phone.

puppychaos · 04/03/2021 20:36

Is there an online booking service for Scotland too? I can't seem to find it.

Thimbleberries · 04/03/2021 20:45

I recently had mine at the GPs as I wasn't eligible on the national site. I assume that makes me group 6. I just tried the national site out of curiosity to see if it would know about my first dose, and it says I'm not eligible to book via that service - I wonder if that means it knows I had it through the GP, or if it means I wasn't group 6 and/or not coded as group 6. Probably it just knows I've already had it. I wondered if it would give me choices for booking dose 2, but I know that I have to go back to the GPs again for that as that's where I had the first one - but I just wondered whether I had been re-coded as eligible and would have been able to book if I hadn't had it at the GP. I guess if it didn't think I had already had it, and if it didn't know I was group 6, it probably wouldn't have said something like I wasn't eligible to book YET.

I think the online booking service might just be for England.

RandomMess · 04/03/2021 20:49

I was told that the group 6 was entirely separate to the website.

I think this is because GP has had to decide who is vulnerable and they have the responsibility of updating the NHS record accordingly.

Jaxx · 04/03/2021 20:53

@wombatchocolate - I have been trying the website. I even called 119 this morning, but they couldn’t help either.

Not all confirmed group 6 can book online atm.

MollyButton · 04/03/2021 20:58

Wow! I could book via that site - I'm already booked more locally for the day after the earliest close appointment I could get, but it's great to know.

RoseWineTime · 04/03/2021 21:29

I didn’t think I was group 6 but got a call from the GP to book me in. Tried the website snd can book on there too! I couldn’t last time I tried earlier in the week.

Derrymum123 · 04/03/2021 21:35

Just booked mine online for Saturday.Group 6. Just needed d.o.b. and NHS number. Text confirmation. Choice of quite a few large vaccination centres from 5miles to 20miles away. No need for letter from GP needed here.

Fluffmonkey82 · 04/03/2021 21:39

@puppychaos

This is coming, I contacted the Vaccination helpline number and have also been involved with my local Carers Centre, it should be online soon. The NHS Inform Lanarkshire website is a good source of information.
Azuretwist · 04/03/2021 21:46

Oh thanks @needadvice54321 - I had given up looking.
I have had mine, but my sibling will be pleased to hear than. Thanks.

CavernousScream · 04/03/2021 21:51

It worked for me today, but there are long waits for appointments round here. Three weeks!!

puppychaos · 04/03/2021 22:06

@Fluffmonkey82 brilliant news, thanks

Trumplosttheelection · 04/03/2021 22:37

Thanks so much. I has no idea about this but put in dds details, she's on immunosuppressive meds and has a heart defect but never got a shielding letter. I put in her details, didn't even have her nhs number and it let me book on the basis of the immunosuppression. Obviously I discussed it with her and we did it together. Fab!

So easy that I became paranoid I'd done it wrong so I tried with dh's details and it knew he wasn't eligible.

greenlynx · 04/03/2021 23:05

Clinically vulnerable are added!
It not allows me to book DD’s jab, says that she needs vaccine which is not available- Pfizer as she’s 16.
I’m devastated. She’s back to school next week and I’m really worried.

jugglingjelly · 05/03/2021 14:26

Anyone know if this has this been confirmed? still no luck here. 119 knew nothing about it when we called

edwinbear · 05/03/2021 15:30

I'm confirmed Group 6 with an appointment booked for next Weds, but still can't book online. I'd prefer to go to a hub really, as they are closer to me than the GP I'm booked in with, but obviously I will go next week. Definitely not all Group 6 can book online at the moment though.
