does anyone know of a selfcatering apartment/flat to rent for holidays in london?

for 2 or 3 adults and 2 small children

doesnt have to be too central, but near tube station would be good

have a look at the Owners Direct website. They have some apartments in London. We've used them a few times before for holidays in Spain and they have been great. HTH

We have stayed here twice (house in top pic). Fantastic location, only slight problem it is up a big hill. We also stayed there with my pil. There are 2 decent sized bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge which dh & I slept on. The bedrooms had 2 double beds but we took ds's ready bed and he slept in that and dd slept in the bed.

Greenwich is fab NP. There is a big park for the children to play. They have boats in the summer months. The National Maritime Museum is there. It's not far to the DLR. Cutty Sark. The Royal Naval College.

You can take a boat trip on the Thames passing down to Westminster.

Plenty of restaurants/take aways/small cafe in the park. If you take your mum you and dh can have a fun night out.

There is Pizza Express, McDonalds (!), a M & S simply food etc.

If you look on my link, the bloke that owns the property has put loads of information about Greenwich on there. Also if you do decide to book through him, if you tell him your my mate he should give you 10% discount.

I would move to Greenwich in a heartbeat, but I don't think the state schools are that great, but the houses, oh god the property porn in unbelievable. Jools Holland lives there.

fimbo, Greenwich - the property prices reflect it, lol. Point Hill is a very good location for Greenwich. Also, Greenwich is within walking distance of Blackheath, for that posh villagy feel.

We live in Norfolk, dh could commute, what do you think?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By blueshoes on Thu 27-Mar-08 12:34:07
yes, shooters hill road is a pretty busy road. I think the location is just on the fringes of acceptable, being on the right side of shooters hill. The property is set far back and has a large enough front garden/driveway to be shielded. Lovely inside.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By blueshoes on Thu 27-Mar-08 12:35:33
fimbo, gloucester circus, now we are talking! With your dh's millions, he can have 2 properties, the townhouse and the bolthole grin
Contact the poster See this person's profile Contact mumsnet about this post By Fimbo on Thu 27-Mar-08 12:41:53
Oh yes. Actually there is a property on Rightmove at the moment on Gloucester Circus but there is only a pic of the inside.

Why is life so unfair grin

I live in London and we were thinking of doing a house swap - when are you wanting to come? I live in Stoke Newington - a pretty trendy part of London, near lots of nice restaurants, shops, parks - very child-orientated. We have a two bedroom flat - with large open plan front room kitchen - very modern flat. We also have a sofa bed in the front room

The Landmark Trust has some very central London properties. Also try The King's Wardrobe for short let (a night, a week, whatever) flats by St Paul's cathedral- v good quality. Have tried them and can heatily recommend.

Thats a shame nailpolish - does anyone else fancy a house/flat swap?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By TantieTowie on Fri 03-Oct-08 10:27:17
Months later, but Janx if you're still in the market for a house swap at some point we could be interested - we have a two-bedroom house close to central Bristol, 10 mins from Temple Meads, 5 mins from parks, shops, on a picturesque road etc.
Used to live in London, have friends in Stoke Newington and indeed across North London, but always easier to have your own space when you have a 21-month-old.
