DD hasn't 'picked up' after sinusitis & the dr said lots of people were struggling this way this winter
Are other people finding the same?

Oh my goodness...this is my aunt's favourite thing to say after someone has been ill. She uses it all year round though!

My 2.7yo has been recovering from a flu type thing for nearly 2 weeks. In fact we're all pretty unwell with one thing or another <sigh>

Yes, I've had it.
I've had 2 coldy chesty things through December/January and both really wiped me out for several weeks!
Horrid, because you can't have all that time off work but I've felt so exhausted. I'm only just getting back to normal now, my last cold started New Year!
The doctor said no exercise, no school & see how she was in 3 weeks or so
She is tired & keeps getting a temperature, and so, so emotional

There does seem to be a particularly harsh virus going about this year. I was ill enough to be off sick from work for the first time in 4 years - had 5 days off, spent first 3 days unable to get out of bed and felt washed out for about 3 weeks after it. I wasn't the only one either - a lot of the people I work with and friends who are "never sick" were also quite ill and people took a relatively long time to fully recover. Maybe the GP is right?

If what your Dr says is true and a lot of people are struggling like that
I wonder if it's too much central heating and lack of fresh air/exercise?
The heating in some homes/schools/shops is so high it takes my breath away at times...and lots of people tend not to want to go out walking/playing just because it's winter.

Words, I'm very outdoorsy person and don't have heating on high but I started feeling crap just before Christmas and only started feeling better last week.
Have now started with a bloody cold today grrr.

There's a nasty virus going around. DS had it around the end lf November and while he was 'better' after about a week it was easily three weeks before he was fully himself again. DD and DH got it over Christmas as did DM, they're only just fully over it and DM still has lingering chestiness and sinus pain. They were better after a few days in that the major symptoms had cleared but the minor symptoms linger and they just had no oomph in them, it seemed to take ages for DD to get her appetite back and she's only just started showing an interest in her Christmas presents this last week or so.
DM swears it's all the damp weather last year, it's brought all the nasty bugs out.
Well it wouldn't be lack of exercise for DD but possibly fresh air (mind you she walks a mile or so at least 4 times a week)
She is so miserable & clingy

Tablet! Stuffed up nose and occasional dizziness.
Poor DD is devastated and already panicking about being 'out of condition' for a course she is going on at half-term
Then she falls asleep
She wants to go to the cinema tomorrow but I'm said no; am I being mean?

You are not being mean. She needs to rest, but I think more fresh air than it sounds like she gets would be a good idea.
We all went down with a bug before Christmas - back near the beginning of December actually - and we are only really fully better now. We have all been tired and grumpy with it for weeks.
Well she isn't well enough to go out really
We had a short walk today which exhausted her

Yes, I am post-viral
Bad cough that dragged on and on, followed by ear and sinus pain.
Now I am low and have a slightly sore throat that keeps coming and going. This has been since about October
I am never ill like this normally

I'm one of those never-gets-ill-types and I've had a cough for nearly 2 months now that WILL. NOT. GO.
DH has been like this for about 2 months, had v bad sinusitis end of Nov and has just been under the weather ever since. Every two weeks or so he has two days of flu-ish symptoms, each time just a little bit milder than the last. I feel like I've been a single parent for weeks as he just spends the weekends dozing and not able to do much but it's clearly what his body is needing to do. I feel v sorry for him.
She's been ill off & on for months I guess
Sinusitis over Christmas & 2nd lot of abs a week ago Thursday - off school for 8 days now
& NO dancing at all (she is going insane)
DS2 has been unwell since Christmas; he's stroppy, drowsy and won't eat. He's had antibiotics for an ear infection, steroids for croup but he just can't seem to get fit enough to fight off all these minor bugs so this weekend he's got the shits and can't stop sneezing. Fortunately he's still in nappies
