I don't want to know if you hate them (but I am prepared for some comments or I would be silly posting here).

How would you spell these names? The babies in question are half Arabic, half Welsh, so pretty exotic looking.

Leila (lovely name)

Not sure re the other name - ?Caidan looks the best spelling I think

Heated · 07/06/2009 09:34

Leila or maybe Layla

seeker · 07/06/2009 09:35

Leila.

Don't know about the boy's name because I've never heard of it - I presume it's a "made-up" name so you can spell it any way you like. I would probably go for Kayden as the most obvious, and therefore the one that is most likely to be spelled right throughout his life.

Horton · 07/06/2009 09:38

I like Leila but not Layla or Laylah. I wouldn't have any idea how to spell Kayden.

ThePhantomPlopper · 07/06/2009 09:39

Leila.

Don't know about Caidan. It's a made up name isn't it?

19fran76 · 07/06/2009 09:43

Like Leila very much.

Don't like Caidan at all.

beanieb · 07/06/2009 09:45

Leila is the only one I like.

Bucharest · 07/06/2009 09:48

I prefer Leila but at a push Layla is OK....(soft spot for old Eric) It's lovely.

Cayden etc is not my style...

Rachmumoftwo · 07/06/2009 10:00

Cayden is an old Welsh name meaning battle, or fighter. The baby in question is very premature but a real fighter so it seems fitting.

All names are made up though, so yes, it is a 'made-up' name.

The Welsh name is spelled Caden, Not Cayden.

princessmel · 07/06/2009 10:17

Go with Leila and Caden

MrsMattie · 07/06/2009 10:25

I don't like Caden or any of the variations, sorry.

Leila is the prettiest and most authentic spelling, I think.

lionheart · 07/06/2009 10:31

Caiden not made up at all--very old English name.

boodleboot · 07/06/2009 11:20

I have really good friend called Leila....it suits her. i also know someone that has a little blinde toddler called Layla which i think looks chav....weird. i think its because Leila means dark one and this little tot isn't....

Tortington · 07/06/2009 11:22

SoupDragon · 07/06/2009 11:25

Dont know the correct spellings of any of these names but whatever you choose (if you do use any), you are condemning a child to a lifetime of constantly telling people how to spell it.

sockmonster · 07/06/2009 14:16

Leila, definitely. It is a beautiful name- the other spellings ruin its beauty and 'chav it up' somewhat.

No idea about how to spell boy's, sorry!

smurfgirl · 07/06/2009 14:27

Layla and Caden.

ellingwoman · 07/06/2009 14:28

I prefer Laila myself

Overmydeadbody · 07/06/2009 14:39

Speaking from experience:

Leila gets mispronounced (often as "leela") whereas if you spell it Layla it gets pronounced properly. Mine is officially spelt Leila on birth cert/passport etc but I have resorted to using Layla so people rponounce it properly.

SuperWasher · 07/06/2009 14:43

Leila and Caden. Out of your spellings I'd choose Caidan because I don't like k spellings, but that would confuse me because my dd's name begins with Cai but pronounced Ky not K

katiek123 · 07/06/2009 14:46

leila
beautiful name!

no opinion re the boy's name, sorry
