I don't have feelings about it either way, so that's probably a tick in the box for you!
I only think of "Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion" when I hear it.

I like Romy.
As a child (in France) I used to love an actress called Romy Schneider, she was fascinating.
That name still means beauty and grace to me, thanks to her!
Romy lovely, is it for a girl? And is it short for something?

I really don't like romilly and definitely don't like rosemary so it would not be short for anything, just Romy.

"is that a bad connection?"
I don't think so, but I barely remember the film - only the title! Sorry btw.

It' a pretty name but whenever I hear it I do think of Romy Schneider. She was v beautiful but had a v tragic life - if that kind of stuff bothers you.

I like it but would be unsure how to pronounce <clueless>. Is it Ro (rhymes with 'low') -my or Ro (like the start of 'olive') -my? And is the -my bit pronounced as 'my' or 'me'?

And I see that QOD has answered my question!
Romy and Michelle's High School reunion - get it out on DVD and watch it to know whether or not you think it's a good or bad connection! (2 blonde girls who definitely came under the "different and a bit dim" umbrella but ultimately were the "nice girls who did good". I like that film)
Row-me is the pronunciation I'm familiar with.
I have a friend whose cousin is called Roma, that's nice too.
Yes, I would only connect it with Romy Schneider. It's not a name that would spring to mind as a choice but I don't hate it thought you were going to say a surname. Go for it!
Trouble is, I don't think it's particularly unusual. I know 4!
