I'm not a vegetarian, but I can't stand the smell out taste of bacon. Any time this comes up in conversation I'm made to feel like I'm in a strange and unreasonable minority, but I'm sure I'm not the only one to hate it's porky vileness!

I don't like it. Sometimes I fall into believing the bacon hype, and I will make a bacon sandwich. I never enjoy it.

YABVU. Bacon is God's gift to humankind. Of course, it has to be crispy - flaccid white bacon fat is an aberration!

Well, I don't eat any red meat at all, just chicken and fish.... Oh and the odd bacon sandwich! I didn't eat meat for nearly 20 years until pregnancies - cravings for bacon sarnies with DS1 and chicken with DS2. Better not have anymore kids or I'll be eating steak next.

I know some ex-vegetarians who were "turned" by the smell of bacon. I don't know anyone who doesn't like it, therefore YABU

I hate to rock the boat but I like bacon BUT only if it's well-done and crispy. There's nothing worse than bacon in a cafe or canteen that's really anaemic and chewy, fat and all. Actually makes me heave...

YANBU well, I've been vegetarian for over 20 years and have no interest in eating meat of any kind (and when I did eat meat I liked bacon) BUT I do find the smell of cooking bacon particularly foul (and used to have to hold my breath when walking past a breakfast vendor at the local train station.

There seems to be a commonly held view that because a few people have tried vegetarianism for a while, then been tempted back to eating meat via bacon, that bacon possesses magical properties barely resistable to any vegetarian. See the failure of logic there? a few / all - not the same. Yucky, yuck, yuck.

No YANBU. Bacon is basically slithers of grimness! The worst by far is smoked bacon, the smell of smoked bacon makes me want to run for the hills and vomit! I hate, hate, hate its artificial smokiness (but then I hate BBQ sauce and any other 'smoky' tastes that so many people seem to love). Bacon 'rind' is basically a fatty, chewy worm-like thing that is like chewing a piece of hose-pipe andthe meat of bacon is starngely too pink and too salty and too chemical-tsating. Bacon is utterly vile. Any meat that even my fat cats will turn their noses up at must be bad!
