Boris - every home in the UK will get a leaflet, good idea or utterly pointless?

Daily Fail article here

Personally I think it's a massive waste of money. Most of us hear the daily news one way or another. Why go to the expense of a leaflet drop? What do you think?

Makes me feel more than ever that this is being approached like a war, except there isn’t a bloody war, we are the ones bombing ourselves. We don’t have to do this to ourselves, lads! This is utterly mental!

They're doing it because it's more memorable.

After all, we're talking about it now. There will probably be threads critiquing the content idc.

Can you remember when that last happened with an online info release?

£10 million on Tory propaganda at our expense.

Sounds a bit "new headteacher changing the school uniform just because" to me.

How much does it cost to make and broadcast a typical party political or 'PM direct to the nation' broadcast?

Genuine question - I was wondering how it compared to a mailshot

(Yes I tried googling, but the search terms I tried weren't finding the info I was after)

We were talking about the effectiveness of leaflets at an emergency response planning meeting I attended not so long ago.

These days, they're a bit useless because so many people put them in the recycling without looking at them and of the ones who do keep them, they don't read them and/or can't find them should they need the information later.

I think for most people under about 60, some form of smartphone app or social media is more effective and much cheaper and for most older people, TV or radio adverts, but you have to accept that you can't make everyone take notice, however you disseminate the information.

A leaflet seems so old fashioned. Not Dominic Cummings style at all.

Fits quite well with Boris' Brexit "war cabinet".

A leaflet about what? Terribly old fashioned!

Pointless.

A leaflet won't solve anything about a No Deal Brexit.

I hope he prints the recycling schedule of my collections on it.
At least then it will be glanced at.

A mass return to downing Street might just send him the message he needs to hear.

It's a complete waste money. There are much better things to spend it on. I do find myself wondering where he found the magic money tree.

Crap!

What an utterly ridiculous and insulting waste of money and paper!

95% will go straight in the bin/recycling unread!

Seriously pro Johnson people THIS is supposed to make us believe he's an effective sensible leader?
