For a small 3yo...needs to be not to heavy!
And under £40 preferably
TIA
2nd hand on Ebay.
The prices will plummet after Christmas if you can wait that long.
Under £40 new you won't get pneumatic tyres.
You get what you pay for.
We had this for my DD. Fab bike she had it from about 2 years and could it still fits now (though she now has a big bike). Very light and has lasted brilliantly, we've just given it a paint job to hand to a cousin. Can't remember where we got it from..not amazon.
Decathlon have good cheap balance bikes too and just saw that Tesco direct has cheap BB
Sorry, forgot to say that bike works out about £60 with postage but you may find it cheaper elsewhere
Thanks, I know nothing about them! Am doing a friends xmas shopping for her and this is what she wants fr her DD and tod me to choose...would help if I knew what I was doing though
Katee, my computer is being a pain and I can't open links...can I ask what the brand etc is so I can search it this end
thank you!!
bike*star 25.4cm (10 Inch) Kids Learner Balance Beginner Run Bike Sport - Lilac & White
We had pink and white..beautiful bike. Balance bikes are fab. DD could learned to ride with pedals at 3 and 3/4 and was doing 6+ mile bike rides by the time she was 4!!
Was it this one Katee?
Is 10-inch ok size wise? she's 3 but easily in age 2 clothes size wise? a 12 inch normal bike was recommended to me for her age
Argh!!
Thank you!!!
That one is exactly what she had.. that one has got 12 inch wheels. DD had it from about 2.5 until 4 years. She hadn't outgrown it. Seat is very adjustable. Our DD is a shorty. We did loads of research at the time. It's in kitchen if you need me to do any measuring!!
Thank you Katee!! That looks like the one to go for!!
If anyone can find it for under £50inc delivery...I would be beyond grateful!!
Hope she likes it. I'm sad DD has grown out of it. DD is a bit sad hers is going!
Ok, £60 has been vetoed!
Needs to be £40 at the absolute most...neither if us have time to pick up from eBay so will have to be. A new one!
Have you checked the mumsnet reviews?
Here
Any thoughts on the [[ http://m.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Bikes-and-Rideons/Balance-Bikes/12-Seven-Balance-Bike/0093796?searchPosition=1 seven balance bike]]
Will check reviews on mn to! Thanks all!!
DD has one of these and it is great.
We bought ds2 an Early Rider wooden balance bike for his 2nd birthday. Really light, lovely looking bike that's very adjustable and will easily fit him until he can ride a proper bike. Think it'll be above budget though unless you get a second hand one.
Just wanted to say though that if you're looking at less than £40 wooden ones are probably best avoided. Nursery bought a couple and they were trashed inside a fortnight.
Small child here has one of these (although not in that particular, hideous, shade of pink!
I know not wooden, but they're well constructed and stand up to a spot of hard labour (aka being dropped and left around the place a lot).
right, absolutrlyu have to order one tomorrow for hr and I'm still none the wiser!
I really do like the look of the Chicco one, but will it be to big for a pretty small 3yo?!
TIA!!!
We've got ds1 one of these
It hasn't arrived yet so cant confirm what it's like, DS1 is nearly 3 but small for his age so hope it's the right size
Thanks Snap!
Are foam tyres ok or should I be looking for proper tyres iygwim?!
ARGH!!
TIA!
Ok!
It's between these two now
The Kettler Speedy
or
The Chicco bullet
she's 3 but a titch!
Chicco, definitely, it's 2.1 kg lighter! That';s massive difference.
The Kettler comes with a hand brake but she might never get hang of that anyway.
Chico looks fine for a small 3 year old . first couple of reviews say its fine for a 2 year old and too small for a 4 year old
Ok chicco it is!! I didn't even think of the weight being an issue!! Idiot!
Thanks all!!!
We've bought DD this one for Christmas. She's not had it yet though, so I can't comment how good it is-!
Strider
I don't know who the UK retailers are but google them
Got one for ds2s second birthday and it's been used every single day since and is still pristine.
Its maneuverable, lightweight, gorgeous colours, really adjustable and it is the best money I've ever spent on the kids without a shadow of a doubt.
