I can't think of anything original

Have got him little stocking fillers and the usual stuff, smellies, etc, but I usually get him a main present too, and I just can't think of anything I've not done before.

Tell me your wonderful ideas please so I can steal them

Ive ordered DH the complete James Bond boxed set (excluding the current film obviously) at £88 and the Monkey boxed set at £40.

He has stocking fillers too. I have to admit that this is our 8th christmas together and every year gets more difficult to buy for him!

Having said that I can't believe I have been with someone that long!

New squash racket and squash shoes. Does your DH have any hobbies/sports he plays?

Last year he got a new sports bag filled with: A black towel, 2 black pairs of shorts, 5 black T shirts and 5 black socks......because I was siick to death of him putting his sports kit in the washer without seperating it from my stuff - hence my request for all new underwear . Now he has enough to last him all week and it can be washed on its own at the weekend!

Yep he plays rugby & football - but over the (many) years I've bought him just about every sports-related gift there is, I think!

He also loves music but there again I can't think of anything new - he has ipods, various speakers, etc...

I got DP James Bond box set as well but only 50 GPB on Amazon, but there are different box sets and I'm a cheapskate

He can watch them at night in his lorry because there's no way I'm sitting through that rubbish

He will also get the usual smellies, toffee and maybe a new duvet set for his lorry bed

Main present will be a gift set including a year's pass to Bletchley Park

A new ipod from me, dvds from the dc and a few little stocking bits.

Does he have a SatNav? Bought my DH top of range, expensive one for commutes in and out of London and he says it had been the best thing I've ever got him! I'm planning on another gadget type thing this year, men love gadgets!

My DH is getting the Duo Pinball Controller for the iPad, he has no idea but he will love it.

If he is really into music, what about some concert/gig tickets. This year I've bought mine 4 frames for Vinyl records so he can display some of his favorite stuff.

Watch and "permission" to join DD in her somewhat expensive outdoor hobby.

Only he earns anything so it's a bit daft saying I give him presents or permission to do anything.

Usually he gets clothes as he would only replace items with actual holes, but I've already replaced the one thing he' destroyed recently.

A "nice" laptop bag (I bought him one that got stolen)
A camera (he dropped the last one)
If money was no object an Aeron office chair, although he would probably break that too .

My H & I now buy next to nothing for each other at Xmas (a bit different for birthdays). I love it!

We've been together a long time and bought each other tons of stuff over the years. Now we have young children prefer to focus on them. Really doesn't feel like we're missing out, just takes pressure away from having to buy stuff for sake of it.

I don't know if I am just a grinch but I sort of think the need for presents fades the older you get! Most things I want or think someone else would like I probably just buy on an ad hoc basis throughout the year.

Is it worth considering downsizing like this?

Could you run to a pair of tickets to decent seats at an international rugby match?

My DH is getting a new hip flask from Aspinall and I am giving him 'cash' for a new Barbour (this is more of a gesture, as our money is shared, but it is a lot of money that he wouldn't normally spend on himself, so it counts).

He is quite traditional and loves 'knick knack' type things, so things like leather cufflink trays, proper sheepskin lined, leather slippers, anything from Taylor of Old Bond Street and any sort of memorabilia or books to do with WWII go down really well. Last year it was a couple of antique decanters and I made him an upholstered footstool.

He told me yesterday that he would quite like a coffee machine, so that will go on the list for next year.

The way I feel about him right now, coal.

Probably the same as he always gets:
some books
a jumper
something to do with running
some brandy
some socks
foreign films on DVD - any suggestions?
and a chocolate orange (vile, vile things but he insists on one)
and I'd really like to track down a couple of film posters to frame but can't find what I want.

DH has got tickets to see Milton Jones in feb. - However they are for 'us'

No idea what else apart from an armful of Jelly Tot tubes which are his fav.
