Can anyone summarise what's going on with Green Party Women?

I see GPW are re-opening nominations for the commitee, closing 4pm on Wednesday.

I am a very inactive Green Party member who feels she should get more stuck in.

I've read some of the threads but without prior knowledge of who is who finding it very hard to work out which candidates approach politically empowering women from the GC perspective not the "people of a womanny mind" perspective.

Can anyone more engaged that me quickly explain what the main factions are now, and the key players who are driving them and may be standing in elections for them?

Thank you

There are some really good GC candidates standing for election to the GPW committee.

The EROs have put out a call for more candidates but only because Green Party rules say that you have to do that if you don't have enough diversity among the candidates.

Once all the candidates have been announced, the EROs will send out an email to members with the candidate statements. That should be coming out on Wednesday.

It will be really obvious who to vote for because some of them will talk about the importance of women's sex-based rights or will mention things like the Green Women's Declaration.

There's also hustings on Wednesday evening which will be worth attending.

If you're not signed up to the Green Feminist emailing list then that's worth doing as they often recommend good women to vote for.
