"A source inside the Tavistock confirmed that children “coming off the waiting list and starting a new assessment” in 2023 could be referred for a puberty blocking drug and that it had referred children for such drugs in recent months.
“There is no suggestion puberty blockers are being taken off the table even for the new services,” she said."
In addition:
"It has also emerged that:
• Fifty clinicians at the Gids service have backed an open letter to NHS England claiming patients could suffer because the relationship with the health service has “deteriorated to the point where there is a lack of trust, transparency and responsiveness”.
• Twenty staff have quit the service since the publication of the interim Cass review.
• Families of children who have had contact with Gids have written to the health secretary calling for a national inquiry into alleged failings.
• A consultation on the future of children’s gender identity services in England only concluded in December, five months after the Gids service was told to close."
