Hopefully the above link is live even for those without subscriptions. If not I'll copy and paste.

Why has the NHS so significantly changed its main publication on hormone treatment for children without any announcement or fanfare? There is nothing on that page to reveal the change beyond a footnote that the page was revised on May 28 and giving no details The only way to read the old text is via the excellent Wayback Machine^

But some of the questions arising from that change are rather bigger. Given that the NHS now says that hormone therapy for gender-variant children has unknown long-term effects on the physical and mental health of those children, why is the NHS still using such treatments on children

Wow fab article.

Angryresister · 08/06/2020 10:21

does this mean that women can be treated in women only wards and can request care from women? If so good news.

WhatAWonderfulDay · 08/06/2020 10:48

Oh wow! If this is the way the NHS is going, I will stay and learn to love chlorinated chicken ;-)

InflagranteDelicto · 08/06/2020 10:57

It was worth registering to be able to read that. I'll even subscribe if funds allow in the future.

They allow trans youth to achieve skeletal size that fits their gender identity

That woman is insane.

Dangerously so.

Wibberly Wibberly has a hot take.

Wow, that’s some ummm interpretation - nothing to see here, no harm done, what’s a bit of bone loss.

Sheesh!

EmpressLangClegSpartacus · 03/07/2020 06:58

Which gender identity is related to osteoporosis?

Which gender identity is related to osteoporosis?

Don’t worry, Empress, they can just identify as healthy, pain-free and with unfractured vertebrae.

RhythmoftheEgg · 03/07/2020 07:31

So GnRH agonists help the bones of trans girls to grow? Confused

She must be talking about some other kind of drug, one available in the magic land over the rainbow.

MindTheMinotaur · 03/07/2020 07:36

'They allow brains to think straight' says Webberley. Interesting choice of words, Helen. What were we saying about homophobia again?

Winesalot · 03/07/2020 07:51

Gees. And we won’t even allow under 18s to get tattoos. Or to remodel their faces to look like cats.

So who exactly benefits letting a male child choose to retain a pubescent body???

OldCrone · 03/07/2020 08:01

Not many people on twitter agreeing with her.

Looks like H Webberley and S Whittle are looking to get the Webberleys suspended license to practice medicine lifted.

Hopefully she’ll keep putting out tweets like this (nice ratios Grin) and that’ll never happen.
