Hi I need some films to critique that portrait the sexual victimisation of teens. I remember one about a girl who's mum is an alcoholic and her mums partner rapes her on the sofa, and it is portrait as consented any one know the name? I never watched the whole film and can't remember what its called.

Any other similar films anyone know about?

Maybe I could contrast both movies and see the different representation

I think I need to focus on British film making
However can't find much, was thinking of a time line of changing representations

So far all I can think of is
Rita bob and sue too
Fish tank

Anything before or in between thank anyone can point me to?

Care was a TV movie about abuse in a children's home. I think all the teens were boys. It is British.

This is England? It's a TV series but a sequel to the 2006 film of the same name. I haven't seen the film so there might be something in that that's useful to you too.

is Get Carter the one where Michael Caine finds his niece has been pushed in to porn? something with him anyway.

Eastern Promises, British - 2007. It's a thriller about se trafficking in London.

Sleepers - the abuse in that film stuck with me for an awfully long time.
The book is also an excellent (but harrowing) read.

Donkey Punch.

All just a laff, innit? hmm

Crap sorry British films.

Angela's ashes?

Hard Candy.

Not half as 'empowering' as it would like to think it is.

Wish You Were Here - Emily Lloyd, directed by David Leland (and written by him too iirc)

Oh, and Absolute Beginners. I remember sitting in the cinema feeling disturbed about how Crepe Suzette was being held up as a Prize to be fought over.

The War Zone with Ray Winstone very harrowing movie
