Am hideously ill, d&v bug, so my head isn't quite straight, apologies for any spelling etc.
Just went to My eBay, page opened some time last night, advertising down one side was multiple YouTube images of women showing off their breasts and bums in provocative ways in skimpy clothes.
I'm glad my kids aren't old enough to use my laptop yet, I don't expect those sort of images on what I perceive as a family website (can't even sell second hand nappies as they are a "used intimate item" or however they phrase it, but pictures of strippers/similar - no problem!
Have sent an email to eBay complaining, and there was an ad-feedback link I also filled in. Hopefully you won't all tell me I'm overreacting now I've done it!

Of course you're not overreacting!
But don't they use that clever spy on what you look at on the Internet type of advertising?

Not that it makes it ok btw.
And hope you feel better soon

It must be linked to what someone has been looking at on the computer, I don't think it comes up for people who only look at gardening websites for example.

Google add blocker, and you can get rid of all that kind of crap.

No you are not over reacting at all, but sadly I doubt your complaint will make much difference.

It is usually linked to stuff someone has looked at on the computer. I get Clarks shoes coming up usually
.

Clarks shoes were following me all over the place until I installed the ad-blocker. What an exciting life I lead
. Never get naked people though, I imagine exp does.

No you are not over reacting and well done for making this an issue despite your illness.
Get well soon.

You know first thought I had was targeted advertising. Wasn't me, honest gov, and I thought my husband was still largely IT illiterate, but maybe I shall have a conversation with him when I am less attached to the loo

You are not over-reacting, but it must be said that whilst I was researching the geology of the Philippines, I got a lot of ads for Hot Asian Babes, despite only looking for volcanic formations.
Same happened when I was researching Russian Christmas Traditions, only they were Blonde Lonely Lovelies.
Sometimes the internet makes the most bizarre connections with very little in common.

The ads down the side of my Facebook page seem to have me pegged as someone desperate for a relationship with a 'mature' person, often in uniform
. When the ads start rolling round for Steradent and Zimmer frames I shall know I am past it. Never get naked women...
Just had a look on my ebay for you, my adverts are one for a particular broadband provider I looked at changing to, and one for wedding presents on a particular website. I've looked at both sites and both exact products within the last week.....

DH went on Ebay and got a bit stressed by the semi-dressed, crotchless body stockinged ladies that were coming up as 'last viewed' and 'you might be interested in...' He knew it wasn't him, and assumed it wasn't me and was worried about what the DSs had been looking at, but it turned out to be the fall out from a link I clicked on from a MN thread
It was a funny thread though, even if I can't remember precisely which thread it was to prove to DH I haven't been leering at tacky underwear
