Please help me understand what vaginal dryness feels like - sore to touch? Irritated after weeing? Constant burning sensation? Feels a bit like a UTI?

I think I may be peri menopausal and waiting to see GP.

sounds like it. I had general discomfort and uti and thrush like symptoms. Hormone cream sorted it within a week after years of putting up with it

Menopants · 16/06/2023 21:00

You can buy it over the counter while you are waiting

RedDoughnut · 16/06/2023 21:01

Sounds like it. Vagifem is the answer! And/ or Ovestin cream

TankFlyBoss · 16/06/2023 23:16

Thank you all.

What sort of cream would I need? Is it normal to sting after weeing?

You can now buy estrogen cream otc but if you can get it prescribed. It is in most (but not all) cases a miracle worker. I had similar symptoms and they have all gone since using oestrogen cream.

Get Vagifem, it's a pessary and miraculous stuff.

Your GP will prescribe it or you can buy it from the pharmacist.
