hi :)
i love reading through the threads about everyones ideas etc so thought I would start a new one where we could all post about our weddings?

Im getting married to my dp in October, we are definatly not traditional, he is more into rock music and has some very weird and wonderful friends, I am the total opposite - i like colour - especially when it clashes lol im quite girly , blonde hair pretty coloured nails (thats my hobby lol)

we are having an Alice in Wonderland wedding :)
church service at 4.30, after the service we are having a little van serving hot chocolate to keep guests warm whilst the pics are being taken before heading off to venue for a hot buffet and a party.

suprisingly ive got a long dress and its pretty traditional but im changing into a little white dress after the service. im not having flowers, my bouquet is made from buttons and my 5 bridesmaids have artificial poseys. church will be decorated with candles.
groom/best man/ushers and our fathers are wearing a grey suit with pale blue tie and waistcoat.
bridesmaids have pale blue dresses with champagne sashes to match the champagne bow on my dress.

tables will be decorated with bright pink doilees large glass vases full of bright sweets and vintage teacups/saucers.

think thats pretty much everything?
looking forward to reading about everyone elses wedding plans!

HI, your wedding sounds so fun and thought out. Hot chocolate for the guests and vases full of sweets very Grin.

I am (well we of courseBlush) are get married 1 st August 2013.
The plan is a 'planed elopement' so leave Wednesday, wedding Thursday and return on Friday for a party Saturday. Then off on Honey moon Sunday camping in Cornwall.

We are doing things on tiny budget (to prove it can be done) so wedding will be us plus 2 friends. I'm wear a phase eight purple dress and the best iron fist shoes. He is wear what ever he feels like as long as its not his combat trouser or a suit. I think I may make a bouquet and we are going to book a posh table for a meal after.

We are planning on have a small light tea/ dinner with family and friends on the Saturday pre the party. Im thinking the decortions are going to be inspired by this and i bit of this. the great thing is I can sett it up as im not going off to get married in the morning before like most. To me the main thing to me is keeping it chilled, home made and fun.
So while I plan the decorations my DP is finding the music which will be all his (increasing) vinyl collection as he is a music nut.

Any way that's our plan. Smile

Ooo both sound fab! We were planning to get married next March but now expecting in October so may put it off a year. We are planning on getting married in a registry office, it's a really pretty one, has a lovely garden room for up to 40 guests with beautiful gardens that has a stream running through it. We're then renting a cottage out that is in literally the middle of nowhere so we dont upset any neighbours with loud music. We're going to have a dance floor outside with lots of lanterns and stuff and a marquee just in case it rains but also so we don't get pestered by insects whilst eating lol.

I always loved the idea of a traditional wedding but I just can't see us having a traditional one, plus it's too expensive for us.

byanymeans I love the pics you linked in, especially the first one - having a vintagy themed wedding was my/our second choice (mainly mine tho lol) i love the dress too, wish id stuck to my guns about not wanting a more traditional dress but it keeps the peace with my mam and ill just swop dresses after the photos
ooo what ironfist shoes are you having? they have some fab ones and I almost chose some myself but went with an irregular choice pair.
bear1984 Congrats :) your wedding sounds fab! I love the cottage idea!

Both your weddings sound like so much fun , that was impotant to us too , we want more a party feel then a formal feel if that makes sense?

forgot to say - I am the most unorganised person ever so if the day goes smoothly I will be amazed!

lynzie 68 : Oh I love my dress I tried one 2 white wedding dresses and yes they looked amazing but they were just not me at all. I would only spill some thing on it so when I saw my dress I knew that was the oneWink.
Plus DP loves the dress and the shoe now they are a secret (I fussed more about the shoe then any thing) and they don't match at the dress in style or colour but the so fun. Grin
I love the irregular choice shoes which ones do you have, if you dont mide me asking. I when to the London shop on my hunt for my perfect shoes I really had to try hard not to come home with extra shoes, thought I did come home with 3 pairs of iron fist shoes (on offer of course).

Bear 1984: I love the cottage idea, I keep toying with using some land a friend has and marquees (large scout tents) rather then a hall but we would not be allow loud music or to finish late. Then again same goes for a hired hall really. Renting a cottage is fab idea and your registry office it sounds stunning.Smile
