Excellent!

DD (4y) has invented a 'rain catcher' (a bucket) to measure how much rain has been falling and has been heartily disappointed with the 1cm we've had since Thursday. A good spell of heavy rain might save her enthusiasm for meteorology.

(Apologies to all those who get flooded/rained off etc. of course - I care only about the science...)

I was almost tempted to fake some extra rain for her, but that would be setting a very bad example early on.

(And I hate to think of her sitting in Uni saying 'when I was 4, it rained 5cm in one night and I know because I measured it!' I would be responsible... )

I'd best not get her into faking results then, or we'll have climategate all over again in about 30 years.

Oh lovely, right over us!
At least it'll fill my pond up!
It's gone quite dark here and the wind's got up in the last 1/2 hour. Think something's brewing!
