As the title says really! I have a lovely, very contented (very laidback, to the point of even being a bit lazy) DS2, who has just turned 10 months. He does not, and never has, put anything into his mouth - toys or food - except for fingers when he is teething & he also likes to suck his thumb. When he is given food in his hand or on his highchair tray he just looks at it, bangs it on the table, drops it on the floor - all things he does with his toys.

He eats jars & homemade food quite happily, with small lumps (7-month jars or that consistency, going to try 10-month jars this week to get an idea of consistency but don't anticipate any problems). He also has 20oz formula per day.

I don't actually know whether or not this is a problem, but it seems quite unusual to me? I would say it was down to teething, but he can't have been continually teething for 5 months (since weaning) can he?

Any experiences or advice would be gratefully received!

I posted a similar tale about my now very nearly 12mth old several weeks back.

I'd describe her as a little bit lazy certainly so laid back as to be horizontal and quite happy to sit back whilst bits of food were dropped into her mouth like a little chick

About 4 weeks ago she just "got it" and is now refusing to let me feed her as she wants to do it herself.

Thanks Sara, your DD & my DS sound very similar, so that is reassuring! Generally great to have such an 'easy' baby, but it does have its drawbacks, too

Can I just ask, does/did your DD put toys in her mouth?
