I am trying to drop breastfeeds in the run up to work. My 11month dd doesn't eat much at breakfast (hardly anything) and a bit for lunch and tea. She won't let me spoon feed her sober we have done baby led weaning. She has a breastfeed after each meal and one before bed. Any advice on how to drop at least one feed, and which one, would be great. I'm scared!
Thank you.

Just went through this with my DS. She will eat more as you drop the feeds. Start with the lunchtime feed and the drop alternate day time feeds. Leave 3 or 4 days between dropping feeds to prevent engorgement. It will be fine. You can offer a bottle instead if she will take one, or warm milk in cup of some sort. Good luck!

I'm trying to drop the midday feed and find that going out/keeping busy to distract her from bfing is a good way the last three days she's managed without her midday feed!
so gone from around 7ish in the morning until about 4ish for her tea time feed!

I have done the return to work by just carry on as normal. I intended to keep feeding the same in the weekends so I don't see why I would need to drop feeds. She manages a whole day at nursery without bf just fine. And if DH picks her up from nursery, she will play happily at home until my return too. It's the sight of me that makes her want to have booby
.
We now still have day feeds in the weekend, but none during the week.

Thanks Yawner, is your baby eating more at tea time as a result? And is she having a post lunch nap still?

Ha cam...naps are luxury my friend!!! She will nap if we go in the car or for a walk or fall asleep at her aft bf and it's only a short nap 30-60 min if your lucky! Naps have never been great! She eats four meals a day and eats a savoury yog pot size amount followed by a sweet/fruit the same size at dinner and tea and breakfast and supper are porridge about a yog pot size...very rough guide! She also has finger foods at each mealtime!
