Help I am getting a bit confused. DD (6 months) has been exclusively breastfed (won't take a bottle) until this week when we started weaning. She seems to love it and cried today when I stopped feeding her baby rice, so I think between now and January, I could get her onto 2-3 meals a day. Having looked at the Kelly Mum site and some old weaning threads though, I am now wondering if this is something I should be aiming for. She is going to nursery, full time 4 days a week from beginning of Jan, so her nourishment during the day will have to come from somewhere. Should I really be concentrating on trying to get her to take EBM from a cup, so she can keep drinking the same amount as she is now? Trouble is, I don't think I will have time to express enough, I am managing to express about 4oz a day, but don't know if I will keep this up once back at work. So might have to suppliment with formula if I need to keep milk feeds at the same amount/frequency as she currently has. Before the doubt set in, I was planning on aiming for the following routine for January:
7am Breastfeed
then some solids for breakfast, either at home or nursery - with water offered
11am - Lunch - solids - with water offered
2pm - cup of expressed milk
5pm - Tea - solids - with water offered
6.30.7pm - breastfeed
10pm - breastfeed - will be dropping this at some point.
Does this look OK? Will she be getting enough milk? As i said, should I be trying to get her to take milk from the cup now? She is playing with it and is drinking a tiny bit of water.
Sorry for the rambling post!
