I need to find 4 cottages (?) in UK in October for multi-family holiday...any suggestions please?!

To celebrate my dads retirement he wants to take everyone away for a holiday somewhere in the UK. I have the task of finding somewhere that will suit my dad and mum...my sister and husband and her 3 teenagers...my brother and his partner and then my family 2 adults and 3 primary aged kids. I think he had in mind 4 cottages/chalets/houses all close together so we can be seperate but also pop in and out easily.

Open to any suggestions I am not getting very far trawling the internet!

They have cottages and apartments here, the apartments have 3 double rooms in them (if memory serves) and also sofa beds. But even if you don't use sofa beds that's quite a lot of people housed!

It's beautiful, relaxing and plenty of wilderness exploring for teens and kids. Very family friendly

I've stayed here holiday-by-the-sea.co.uk/index.htm and it was great - just as you describe cottages close together on a farm. They only seem to be advertising 2 of the cottages, maybe worth phoning them to see if they can rent out 4?

We spent several years staying (in sep cottages) like this with my brother and family on holidays - there are set ups like this all over the place - often where farms have converted out buildings into holiday lets.
Can you narrow it down to the area or areas you'd like to go to?
Once you've got an area, then it helps to narrow the search to a mangable number.

Did you know you can hire entire Youth Hostels off season? Have done us proud in the past. We had 60 people in one for Millenium New Year!

I can remember The General Store, Mill End Mitcheldean - it offers a variety of accommodation possibilities - the garden is great for kids and the hot tub is fab for the adults! We had a great 40th birthday - and even had the owners cater a dinner for us one evening. The New Forest is a great place to visit.

Have a look at www.barshambarns.co.uk in Norfolk - 5 converted barns close to the coast with hot tub and games rooms. Fab interiors and lots to do locally. You can stay in one large barn or combine smaller ones.
