To celebrate my dads retirement he wants to take everyone away for a holiday somewhere in the UK. I have the task of finding somewhere that will suit my dad and mum...my sister and husband and her 3 teenagers...my brother and his partner and then my family 2 adults and 3 primary aged kids. I think he had in mind 4 cottages/chalets/houses all close together so we can be seperate but also pop in and out easily.
Open to any suggestions I am not getting very far trawling the internet!
Have a look at www.barshambarns.co.uk in Norfolk - 5 converted barns close to the coast with hot tub and games rooms. Fab interiors and lots to do locally. You can stay in one large barn or combine smaller ones.
Have a look at www.pilgrimsholidaycottages.co.uk/ Or www.cavesfarmbarns.co.uk/ We camped at this site a couple of years ago.

Clydey cottages in Pembrokeshire. We had the farmhouse and an adjoining cottage for my parents' ruby wedding, 8 adults and 6 kids. It has pool, games room, play areas indoor and outdoor, farm pets and visiting therapists for spa treatments. It's fab. No nightlife for the teens though, don't know if that's an advantage or a disadvantage!
Not exactly cottages but really nice ( we go every year for Easter) Porth Veor Manor Hotel and Villas , Porth , Cornwall. All the villas are situated around a central swimming pool ( probably closed in October if cold).
Our family once took over every villa for a wedding and it worked really well.

Sorry to hijack OP but am looking for similar but preferably in Dumfries and Galloway. Either one big house or three smaller ones together. Will check out some of the links.
Only two but these are amazing www.dewlishholidays.co.uk/
Pie mistress, I have a fab place to recomend in D&G. Not at home at the mo but will post tonight.
Thank you!
Tuckenhay Mill, in Devon. Loads of big and small cottages. Has indoor pools, snooker room, playroom for kids. Good eating pub a few hundred yards away.
Pie mistress - hmmm, very strange. I cannot find the place we stayed in which makes me think its not being used as a rental property anymore. It we called Craigie Knowes, and was in a place called Rockcliffe. Rockcliffe is very sweet. A dead end that ends in a beach, 10 min walk to a pub that caters for all (ie kids) and very pretty. Shop 10 mins away, Tesco a bit further afield. We stayed there for New Year in 2010 and it was a lovely luxurious house that slept 10 (although we had 13 as a few babies between us). So sorry! But can still recommend Rockcliffe and that area!
When i say 'dead end' I mean the road doesn't go any further! Not that it's a dump or suchlike!!!
Thanks sleepy, will have à google. The area is,fab for kids and we (3 families) are keen to go back!
Try this site anyway - this is who we booked that house through at the time. We've used them a few times and they're excellent.
Maybe something suitable for you?

Red Doors farm cottages, near Honiton, Devon. www.reddoors.co.uk
6 cottages to rent of varying size. Looks wonderful. 5 star facilities including indoor pool.
Have a great time wherever you go
Where in the UK do you want OP? What about www.tullochfarm.co.uk
Tranquility for your parents
Egg collecting for the primary age kids
Table football for the teens
Look up pennance barns, Falmouth.
I think you can also look at countryview cottages and there are a few developments.
We stayed at pennance barns last month and it was great. (Blackthorns)
