Cheap Holiday Cottages in Northern UK

you usually get what you pay for - cheap cottage = not too nice. I always pay a bit more now and get a nice cottage with comfortable beds!

You have to be careful with the star rating a cottage at the bottom of the 4 star rating will be nowhere as good as one at the top of the 4 star band. I look for Gold Award cottages - they are always a good high standard.

We have stayed pretty cheaply in Northern Cumbria - convenient for days in Lakes, Pennines, Hadrian's Wall and near lovely villages. By "pretty cheaply" I mean, much cheaper than a cottage in the central Lakes.
