Not sure if this is the right place to post this but will give it a go. My ds got a scalextric for christmas but it doesn't work. I don't have the receipt for it but wanted to change it for something different. Does anyone know what toys r us policy is? I looked on the website but can only find info for online returns not store ones. I've got a feeling they will only exchange for the same thing if it's faulty but I wanted to get him something else.

We bought a table top train track in Nov & only discovered on Xmas Eve that a bit was damaged, when we were putting it together! I emailed Toys R Us and they responded quickly & said they'd contact suppliers about a replacement, which is what I requested. I know it's a slightly different situation but I was impressed with their response/ customer service so may be worth an email? I just did it through their website.
Good luck.

I rang our store today and asked what the returns policy was for faulty goods but they wouldn't tell me. They said if I take it in they will decide what to do then. I told them what it was and what was wrong with it and asked if I could exchange it but they said they can't say. Will have to see what happens when I go in but don't feel very hopeful.

Hmmm. That wasn't very helpful was it? Hope you have more luck in person. Stand firm!
I think without the receipt you are dependent on goodwill. Don't go on a busy day!

I went this morning and they let me exchange it! They didn't even bother checking it was faulty, just gave me a credit note and I went and found something else. The member of staff did look a bit stressed though and there were about 8 people behind me in the queue so maybe he just wanted to get rid of me
Anyway, we made up the new toys when we got home (a garage and a fire station) and there is a part missing!!!! Will be going back again tomorrow. Oh joy.
