I'm looking for some inspiration to buy my one year old some new toys in the sales.
I last had a one year old 6 years ago so memory rusty but remember something great which was muscial and they could bang it and it lit up - possibly on legs with a monkey maybe makiing music.
Also remember some kind of toy with balls where the baby could feed them in and watch them go through and out the other side.
Also some kind of toy with cars where they slip slid back and forth before coming out.
Oh and a doggie on wheels.
What does or did your one year old love?

My DS adores his new wooden push along dog on a stick, from Amazon, which click clacks when he pushes it. It was very cheap. He also loves his drum and bells, megablocks, and anything with wheels. He enjoys pushing his toddle truck around and putting things in it to take to random places too. Anything the he can push or put things in/take things out of seem to keep him happy for a good while. His Auntie got him a beautiful tortoise shape sorter from JL's which he can also pull along (he is 14 months)

Sensory balls. Yes indeed that is what they are called. They're different shapes if balls that have hundred of little plastic points all over them (very soft). It was probably one of the few presents (that and a little leather chair) that he made an absolute beeline for on Xmas (he turned one the week before) and he just loves rolling it backwards and forwards and sticking his face on it.

Ah yes Darma that's the one we have too. Yes lisa DS is walking so maybe my ideas will be useful in a couple of months! And baby wipes in this house need to be hidden! Thinking I may also have to rearrange my cupboards as I went through to the kitchen earlier to find that he had helped himself to some crisps! Look very pleased with himself indeed! Needless to say that I had to finish them since they were open already

Dolly pushchair is always a hit with one year olds of both genders. Cheap & fold up - able too.
