I considered getting one for 3 yo DD but the reviews on Amazon made them sound rubbish considering the price and I changed my mind. Several people saying they ended up just buying cheap digital cameras for children.

Yes, dd has the vtech kiddizoom and uses it a lot. It takes a decent photo (better than I imagined actually), she can manipulate it with the inbuilt picture editing and there are a couple of games on it too. We did buy it on offer for £25 from Amazon or Tesco, can't remember which.

Ah well, £25 not too bad, the ones I was looking at nearer to £50, which seemed a bit steep.

My friend's son has a vtech one - it is only 2mp but it has various games and editing things on it - his was £50 from ELC but they have them in Makro half price I think. It did look fairly robust, very small screen, and he'd had it a month and not managed to break it... Smile

Yes dd has the kiddizoom plus, she did have the kidizoom pro but it broke. It does take a decent picture, although to be fair I haven't printed any out. She likes the picture editing thing (putting jail bars/hearts etc around people).

I wouldn't pay mega bucks for one (we got it cheap in the very offer) but they are fine, I don't think a proper digital camera would survive. If you do get one, get rechargeable batteries, they eat them at a rate of knots.

Thanks all- I think I'll get her the kiddizoom plus Smile
