Easel for toddlers - any recommendations or ones to avoid?

I want to buy DS1 an easel for Christmas - he'll be 2 1/2. I also have a 1.2yr old as well so want something that they can eventually share and that will last the rigours of toddlerhood!

TIA Smile.

I've heard the ikea one is v. good. Decent price as well. No direct experience of it though...

DebInAustria · 21/10/2010 10:25

we've got the Ikea one from ds2 and it's good but a bit tall for Ethan at the moment, also there's no tray on the blackboard side so nowhere to put the chalks and all the dust goes straight on the floor instead of at least some going on the shelf! However I like the paper roll and the price !!

I bought my daughter the one from ELC (the blue one) and it has done a good job for both my children.

I don't usually like plastic, but it is easier to wash off paint and crayon than on wood.

Unfortunately, you need to take off the tray to fold the board down and find a place for the tray and board ...

also like the white board and pens but they are not washable so they are hidden at the moment!!

this is the one that DS is getting at Christmas Knitting. I liked the tray and paper roll being at the top. We don't have it yet so can't really comment on it any more than that.

Thanks for your replies - I can't access the links at work but will pick up at home!

I did have a look at the IKEA one but also think it's possibly too tall for my not-very-tall toddler!

Thanks DG, I like GLTC stuff and that price is reasonable.

Deb, the IKEA looks good on FB - E will grow into it Grin. We don't have an IKEA local to us so it might be cheaper for me to order the one from GLTC than do a 2 hr round trip to IKEA tbh!

If you go for the GLTC one don't forget the MN 10% off code!

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 22/10/2010 20:16

You're welcome - it covers the delivery charge at least!

tangledupinblue · 22/10/2010 20:38

I'd definitely recommend the Ikea one - my 2 1/2 DD loves hers - it has a blackboard and something that holds paper too...FAB
