I think it was about 3 weeks for me, and that was with a lot of stitches, I did take it very easy the first few times I rode though! smile

About 3 weeks for me, I got on after a couple of days and didn't sit down just crawled off the other side, I had quite a few stitches to.
Don't rush yourself, when you feel comfy down there then try.

7 weeks after a c-section but I took it very steady. It's not a competition, just do what you feel comfortable doing and remember that your abdominals will take a while to recover which will affect your core stability.

I've just got back on after three weeks post episiotomy (3rd degree) and forceps delivery. I only walked. I tried to trot but it was uncomfy. I only rode for 10 minutes as well. Figured I'd rather ride three times a week for 10 minutes and build up slowly than wait 6 weeks and do full on schooling session lol!!

Plus 4 weeks no riding I was going up the wall!!

Seriously though, it's about your body and what your comfy doing. Had anything hurt I'd have got straight off. No point in doing further damage and facing an even longer lay off!!

I was 2 weeks but had an easy time delivering, have to admitt no sitting trot not even to change the diagonal and canter in a forward position

First dc, 6 months. Second dc 7 days. I took him for a mad blast accross a field and it was bloody fab. My arse hurt for days afterwards tho and the maternity pad wedgie was interesting.

8 years grin. But more to do with not having time, and I didn't have my own horse to get me back to it. Oh, and I did have 3 babies during those 8 years too.

I'm due in December and I'm hopeful to get back on soon! due to an over cautious DH I haven't been riding in ages! So I'll strat slow for both me and the horses' sakes! they've been standing around all autumn, not working either. We should be well matched in unfitness.

Two weeks. Had episiotomy so plenty of stitches. Recommend treeless saddle or seat saver tho!

Wow aamia, two weeks? I'm impressed!

Hear hear on the seat saver. I already use a Heather Moffatt one (memory foam/suede) and it's yum. I even hunt in it.
