That's all really. I am SO excited I have to share. smile

I was the typical pony mad girl, and had my own horse and did pony club and had dreams of Badminton. When I was 19 I had a terrible fall (horse fell on me) and broke alot of bones and was in hospital for months, and could not walk without crutches for 9 months. That was - um - more than 20 years ago.

I can honestly say i have grieved for horses ever since and have never really felt 'like myself' since.

We have finally moved and it is possible for me to start riding again. I have tried 3-4 riding schools around here but nothing really fit with me and I think I have found what I am after now... new school, 1 on 1 riding lessons, and they will work on me getting my confidence back and getting me back into jumping and so on. I hope that in the next couple of years I might have a horse of my own and enjoy myself with some shows, join a riding club etc. I tried a horse out a few weeks back on part loan and he was lovely, but not right for me. But there WILL be th right horse somewhere!

I am so excited all I can do is smile!

Marking my place as a soon-to-be 'the tack room' regular!

How exciting for you grin
Similar situation to you-pony mad girl, gave up (not due to injury, but husband / family) at 18 and returned to it 14 years later, with my own pony smile
Once I got back into it I felt "right" again.........odd isn't it?!
I've had 2 weeks off horses-put Dpony on short term loan because of work commitments-and I want him back now.........miss him / riding soooo much already confused
Good luck with the lessons........and there's definitely a horse out there for you smile
ENJOY!!

Thank you. grin

I feel like I lost myself really, and I have spent the past 20 years searching for something I can be interested in and get excited about- to no avail. I have tried to get back into things, but I get so bored with the 'round and round the school at a walk' approach, and I am still a little too nervous to hack out. (I hate roads). I have tried to get myself interested in other things-swimming, yoga etc. But no, it has to be horses. It is in the blood! When I tried out the loan horse I felt just 'right'. Even though the horse and the situation was not quite right.

I have a little ds now and I badly want him to ride. So, when he is ready I hope for a bomb proof hack for me and a bomb proof pony for him and years ahead of happiness. smile

I really feel like I am myself again. So strange. smile

Thank you so much! I got over excited yesterday though and rang to enquire about a lovely school master horse I saw advertised locally, but he had already been sold.

Then I shook myself and told myself that I have to get back into things FIRST. Horse comes later. smile
